HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY’S DUELISTS’ RING

 

 

“Hear ye,” proclaim the town criers. “For Emperor Godfrey II has seen fit to create a system for the greatest fighters of the realm to showcase their talents. Twice yearly shall the Duelists’ Ring meet, and twice yearly shall a victor emerge. More is to be explained below.”

 

Twice each annum, or twice each Saint’s Week, a set of bouts shall be overseen by an Imperial agent of some kind – be it a member of the Privy, a soldier of the Army, or otherwise. The victor of the most bouts, counted only against opponents not yet faced that year, shall be awarded fifty minas upon the end of the set. At the end of the year, the victories between the two sets will be tallied. These yearly sets of two are referred to as Turnei, the Cassarian term for Tournament, and the man or woman with the most overall victories in each Turnei will be awarded an Aur Turnei medal, the second most a Argen Turnei medal, and the third a Bronze Turnei medal.

 

There shall also be a First Blade of Helena, or the Primier espason, who shall be the man or woman that wins the first Turnei of Helena. After that, the First Blade may be challenged by any Turnei victor once per Aur Turnei medal to a set of three bouts, and the victor of said bouts will be crowned the new First Blade of Helena by a member of the Privy Council. Additionally, a Duelists’ ladder will be made, showcasing the greatest duelists of the realm. Each Aur, or Gold, medal shall be worth five Ladder points, each Argen, or Silver, worth three, and each Bronze worth one.

The First Half of Sigismund’s End [Tuesdays at 3 PM EST]

The Central Days of Godfrey’s Triumph [Fridays at 5 PM EST]
