The Sicken Forest

People of Haense many of you are aware of the danger in the forest North of our great city. I along with soldiers and Knights have faced against creatures that are seen as unholy or cursed; however I am making this letter to inform the Northernmen and women that these animals are in fact sick. How? My good friend and ally who is a talented Druid and one that helped Haense in the past had one of these animals attack the Grove. In his attempts to communicate with the creature he felt it’s agony and extreme hunger and was forced to strike it down. Once the ill animal died the druid found a rather large maggot turn into a rather large fly before his very own eyes.

I and my friend say these animals are sick because as he communicated the ill animal managed to say itself and the others drank from a source of water before they got sick. The theory is that this water has been tainted or something along the water’s edge found it’s way into the animals. I advise to halt travel to Graiswald or Ayr but if required remain on the road and avoid water sources bring what water you can carry from Reza.

 

Recently a battle has occurred with a behemoth and creatures that somewhat resemble us descendants along with an unusual female Elf. I took two bodies of these creatures to be examine by the Druids and await to hear from them. I can not say much more other then they can be killed quite easily like killing men of Lorraine. The behemoth was much more difficult, Lord Erich and a few were able to strike minimal blows and trip it but it took magic to slay it. Now onto this strange elf which was reported to be kind and goes by Pan.

Pan a elf unsure the race was said to be living in the Northern Forest close to Graiswald. I advise no interacted with Pan as it is unclear what she is and why she is in the woods. Soldiers that met her report that her blood is the color of silver and with some sort of magic she can manipulate her bones creating armor of sorts. A soldier reported she ate the meat of a creature raw and acts weird overall. I again will advise no interaction and if she approaches you leave or ask her to and send a letter for a guard or me.

 

At this moment it is unclear if these occurrences are related but I assure you myself and others are putting relentless effort into discovering what is going on inside the Forest. If contact is made with the ill animals striking it down is advised and to burn the corpse. Contact with the new creatures I advise caution if they attack then strike them down otherwise observe or leave. If you come into contact with Pan respectfully decline any request if one is made and be cautious when leaving which is advised unless accompanied by a Knight or Druid.
