CONDEMNING COWARDICE

16th of Owyn’s Flame, 1750

 

Honorable colleagues and my fellow Orenians,

 

The act of terror against our hallowed hall of Orenian government was a heinous and cowardly attempt to silence the voices of our Empire. The Imperial Senate stands with the brave soldiers of the Imperial State Army, our municipal officials of Helena, and the bravery of our citizens who acted with courageousness and diligence to respond swiftly to the saboteur. To our constituents across the entire Imperial domain, we pledge to uphold our solemn and sacred duty to preserve and maintain the integrity of our government to safeguard the Empire from all threats. 

 

We the Senators of the Holy Orenian Empire categorically condemn this act of barbarism and violence against fellow citizens. We urge our people to remain vigilant in this time as we continue to advance the cause of values of Orenian unity, sovereignty, and valliance in the face of those who seek malice. The Imperial Senate shall convene swiftly to pass legislation to inhibit further violence and to curtail the dangerous ideology of this Chelovek revolt. 

 

We continue to maintain our commitment for the people across the Holy Orenian Empire, advocating for the betterment of our constituents and the security of our future. 

 

We continue to protect the right of due process by ensuring that all citizens are tried by their peers, that they not be subject to inhumane sentences and imprisonment, and that all obtain equal protection under the law. 

 

We continue advance the cultural unity of our Empire by chartering education for our future generations. 

 

The Senate takes its oath seriously as an institution that strives to advance the cause of every constituent across this land. This attack on Varoche Hall will not be remembered as a defeat of Orenian rights and the Rule of Law. Rather, let us make it clear to all who should hear:
 

The Tapestry of Man shall not be torn.
