The Lyeii’ame; “We little ones of the forest,” in common, is an educational program which started serving as a school for the children of Irrinor, although it has grown to encompass all Mali who have lost their culture as well as newcomers to the Forest Realm. It has many teachers who cover many topics, directed to young Elves under the age of thirty. These topics are based on the culture of the Mali’ame, and could be anything ranging from language classes such Elven and Tiva, to hunting, fighting, healing, cooking, religion, and protection of the natural world.

The work and activities taught in this system allow the student (or parent, if preferred) to choose which lessons to attend. These unique courses serve as only an introduction to the topic, consisting of a specific set amount of lessons and tasks developed by the teacher. The “lessons” could be anything, yet tend to be adventurous and enjoyable tasks, games and events, to appeal to the interests of the youth. Verbal lessons and homeworks tend to be less common, yet are applied wherever necessary. Should they be more interested in the designated fields upon the attendance of an adequate amount of lessons, as well as reaching an age of adulthood or near adulthood, they can “graduate” into higher forms of education targeting the adults of Irrinor, such as the Naelurir, Sulierir’Elame, Mataliame’haelun, and The Blood-Fire Forge.

“As I observe the children of our people, my devotion to the Gods tugs upon my soul. They are the future of the nation and the priesthood. The calling beckons to guide the innocent, to kindle within them qualities for the betterment of our kin.”

 - Rainbow Druid Skylar Taliame’onn.

The Lyeii’ame was founded in the Forest Realm of Irrinor, 1754. The idea was originally set forth by the management of the Ohowaki’leh Lindoran Library, and officially founded by various teachers interested in developing the minds and identity of the Irrinor youth. Despite the specific lessons and talents hoping to be taught, the utmost of goals by all were to instill positive qualities and traits in the personalities of the children. The goals are to teach Lyeii’ame students to be:

Seekers of knowledge and wisdom in all things

~-~

Community oriented citizens, in harmony with their brethren

~-~

Faithful followers of their Gods

~-~

Preservers of Nature and all its miracles

~-~

Communicators who can thoughtfully and confidently articulate their thinkings, identity, and beliefs.
