I CASE. THE MURDER OF METHAS BENNET

 

Murder:

202.023 - Where an individual intentionally and with premeditation causes the death of another, this shall be murder of the first degree. (Class V)

 

Perjury:

204.092 - Where an individual intentionally misleads, deceives, or withholds pertinent information from an interrogating agent of the law during the course of a criminal or civil trial, this shall be perjury in the first degree. (Class P)

 

Vigilantism:

207.041 - Where an individual intentionally apprehends, convicts, or punishes another individual of a crime but is not an agent of the law or given permission by the Imperial Office, this shall be the crime of vigilantism in the second degree. (Class E)

 

Arson Conspiracy:

203.052 - Where an individual intentionally or negligently damages or defaces the property of another through fire, and this damage is of great amounts, this shall be arson in the first degree. (Class P)

209.011 - Where an individual knowingly signals intent to commit a crime at a future time, this shall be the crime of conspiracy, and is subject to the same class of punishment of the crime which conspiracy is caused for.

 

     Today, Alexander Joseph d'Arkent was doing a round of questioning civilians. He had been tasked by the Ministry of Justice with finding the supposed murderer of a recent case. He asked Lloyd Sokolov if he had seen any men without shoes on (consider the murderer left barefoot, bloody footprints on the crime scene). Lloyd was startled to which Mister d'Arkent apologized. Then the mother of Lloyd, Auralia Sokolov, scolded Mister d'Arkent for tapping on the kid's shoulder.

 

     Recognizing Auralia Sokolov from a case prior to this one, Mister d’Arkent asked to Auralia if the name of the kid he was recently talking with was indeed Lloyd Sokolov, to which she confirmed. Mister d'Arkent then explained that a man named Snyder Wentz attempted to pin Lloyd up as the prime suspect of the winery murder, making the kid sound like a criminal.

 

     Mister d'Arkent simply intended to warn them but the Sokolovs responded with anger. They told Mister d'Arkent that the Ministry of Justice was of no good and that they would burn the house of one of Wentz’s companions down, Mister Methas Bennets.

 

     Mister D'Arkent told them off while he worked on both the case of Snyder and Methas before he returned to the square where he found the Sokolov's. Then, Lloyd Sokolov proudly presented the head of Methas Bennets to Mister d'Arkent while Auralia Sokolov and Matthias Sokolov claimed to be responsibles for the severed head and the kill.

 

     In consequence, Mister d'Arkent and some brave soldiers arrested both Auralia and Matthias Sokolov. Lloyd Sokolov fled out of the city with the head.

 

    In the ISA Bastille Auralia and Matthias confessed before an agent of the law that they indeed commit the crimes.

 

II CASE. THE MURDER ATTEMPT ON YAZMORRA WOLDBRANCH

 

202.023 - Where an individual intentionally and with premeditation causes the death of another, this shall be murder of the first degree. (Class V)

 

209.031 - Where an individual actively attempts, but fails to commit, a crime, the individual shall be held liable with a mitigated punishment according to the crime which was attempted.

 

204.031 - Where an individual knowingly possesses illegal substances, literature, or items, this shall be the crime of possession of contraband in the third degree. (Class P)

 

     Five saints days ago Mrs. Auralia Sokolov drugged a forest dwarf known as Yazmorra Woldbranch and then proceeded to beat Yazmorra near death within Helena. Yazmorra was then cared for within the clinic in Helena by fellow forest dwarves known as Darinbdrabor and Maggie Cottonwood, whilst Jack Reynolds was sighted as an Orenian citizen who saw the extent of Yazmorra’s injuries.

Viktoriya Bennett frowns, reaching for the parchment with a saddened expression. “Lloyd’s family... Killed my brother?” she quietly murmured, the paper trembling in her hands. ”This... Must be why they moved to Sutica. How wretched,” the small girl wept, her visage wrinkled with rage and sadness.
