Summer Solstice Festival

[A letter would be delivered to every mailbox in the Pale, stamped with the seal of Tor Eldar. Inside was a missive, which would also be distributed about Helena. It reads as follows--]

 

“To all citizens of Tor Eldar, the Empire, or allies thereof:

The Summer Solstice Festival, known as Asul’fiyem Kaliri will take place in 5 elven days. It is a time of great jubilation within the Pale, celebrating the fruits of our labor in uniting malikind. We look forward to the future of our people, and all ventures to come. The event will begin with a Rite of Passage for young mali, between the ages of 18 and 50. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best clothes, with warm, vivid colors. 

 

~Rite of Passage~

The Rite of Passage is for mali between the ages of 18-50. The contestants race across a strip of hot coals-- only heated moderately so as to not cause severe injury-- while dodging obstacles along the way. This race is to show bravery and virtue, representing the hardships of life-- yet is rewarded at the end with a drink among their family and friends. The first place prize is a place of honor at the feast following this event.

 

~Summer Feast~

The Feast takes place after the Rite of Passage, and lasts throughout the event. It takes place in the Malin’s Rest Tavern, with free food and drink available, and exclusive items available for purchase. Attendees may come and go from the Feast as they wish throughout the event, to replenish their energy and relax. There are seats of honor for winners of the Gladiator Contest and Rite of Passage.

 

~Gladiator Contest~

This contest is for human and mali adults alike (over ages 18 for human, 50 for mali.) In this fight, the contestant may choose any weapon available to them, including a specific type of magic. Only one type of magic or weapon may be used, and magic users will not be pitted against non-magic users. In order to join this event, please sign up using the following form. The grand prize for this contest is 1k mina, and 500 mina for second place.
