TIDE'S WHISTLE

[!] The Isles of Arcas were filled with flyers, of a tailorshop that was recently rumoured to be in the works along the shoreline.

The Eighteenth of Harren's Folly, 1779.

To the Isles of Arcas,

I am known as Sir. Emelius and with no modesty at all - I declare myself: the greatest tailor of our time! I have landed on your shores, and have deemed them well to receive the industry of my trade. I have always believed that the mundane is not without some relevance in our world. Indeed, on the contrary, I think that the ordinary and the simple are appropriate for many situations. However, this need not apply to every such thing we do, and we should not reflect simplicity in our own clothing, like it is some badge to be lauded on by society. The need for practicality is real, and common, and even recognised by myself - but it is with a desire to see a brighter world, that I urge you all to seek wonder in your chosen garments!

I was once an impoverished peasant, fighting for scraps on the shores of a distant land, before I took up local work as a Shipwright & Sailmaker onboard a vessel of cutthroat pirates. I sowed their flags, and hoisted their sails - and I saw some of the finest silks and cloths in all the civilised realms, which would cross my path, only briefly, when they would bring the spoils of their loot aboard. I did not wish to be a tailor, or a haberdasher, but the world took me from a mundane existence, and forced me to learn, was I to ever earn my keep. There I learned, the wonder of the oceans - and since being shipwrecked on these fair shores, I endeavour to bring that eccentricity to you, here and now. I will stitch, and patch, and fasten, and button - so that you might look the part for any occasion or adventure that demands the finest garbs money can purchase!

I want to work with you, ultimately. To listen to your requests, your specifications, and deliver any article that you require. The price I ask is a bargain, cheap by the standards of the contemporary man. I only ask a single thing of all my customers - that they dare not ask me to stop whistling, for that is my only, and immutable habit. I whistle whilst I work on my designs, as I have done since my seafaring days, and I will not amend this beloved behaviour for any sum of coin. If this is of no concern for you, seek me out at the very shores of the wonderful world - in The Free State of Sutica, for I can be most easily found in their market square, peddling wares to the savvy customer for my own delight. If you struggle to find my place, just listen for the whistling, and you will soon thereafter find me, for I am not one to hide from good merchantry!

I shall see you in the TIDES,

THE TIDE'S TAILOR, Sir. Emelius

Isottae Harkness waited out in front of the door an Elven hour before the shop would even open, talking with the other in line with her, as they’d bide their time before they could get into the shop.
