Konstantin Wick has served two productive terms in the Imperial Diet so far, first elected as the 4^th member of the Josephite Bench in 1769 and then being elected by a landslide majority of 36% OF ALL VOTES in 1775 – that’s an entire 10% more than any other candidate! As the undisputed popular voice for the Orenian people, Konstantin Wick’s success is reflected in legislative merit: in the 15^th Imperial Diet, he was the only candidate to pass two bills by unanimous vote, and hugely significant bills at that in the form of the Evictions Act to provide stewards with a legal basis for evicting citizens and the Legal Procedure Act to determine the exact procedure by which law in this country is conducted. In the 16^th Imperial Diet, following his landslide election, Konstantin Wick was unanimously voted to serve as President of the House of Commons by Josephites, Everardines and Independents, and thereafter oversaw the productive 16^th session.

 

Now, Konstantin Wick is returning for his 3^rd session, and returning with a fire. Older, wiser, more handsome – Konstantin Wick once again asks to be affirmed with the will of the people to enter into the House, and continue with the betterment of the Holy Orenian Empire for all its people. As a member of the Josephite Union and well placed with the Independent Bloc, Konstantin Wick is without a doubt the best-suited candidate to guarantee results.

 

And so, once elected, Konstantin Wick shall:

I: Government Oversight

Konstantin Wick will deliver more satisfactory government oversight, exerting the powers of the House of Commons in full to ensure that government ministers are actively fulfilling their duties for the betterment of the Empire, and are not wasting away their budgets and resources, provided by the Orenian taxpayer, fruitlessly. To this extent, Konstantin Wick promises to work towards creating frequent audits of government departments to assess their work and activity, and, if permissible, publish their findings for the reassurance of the public. The days of the Supreme Court taking seven years to complete their cases and departmental silence are over – no longer will the Orenian people wonder what their taxes go to!

 

II: Budget

The age-old question of balancing the budget, and the rallying-cry of most other candidates, is something Konstantin Wick shall too promise, and lead in resolving. With the appointment of a new Secretary of the Treasury, Konstantin Wick shall work to cut down on the excessive and squanderous spending in various governmental departments to ensure that the Treasury need never feel the need to levy more taxes on the Orenian people to support themselves, and that government expenditure is not only productive and fruitful, but also sustainable!

 

III: Diet Powers

Where was the will of the Commons when the Empire declared war against Sutica? One of the most monumental, and consequential, decisions from the Imperial government in recent times was made without any consultation of the Diet – meaning that YOU, the common people of this Empire, were robbed of the voice you were promised. Konstantin Wick and the Josephite Union promise to work in the House, and with the Imperial Government, to ensure that never again is your voice silenced. This work shall endeavor to achieve far greater powers for the Imperial Diet to properly reflect the importance of the will of the actual common people of this Empire. Not only will Konstantin Wick pursue war-approval powers for the House of Commons, but also enhanced powers such as override voting to ensure that the House of Commons will always be heard and its will acknowledged, not just when it is

convenient!

 

People of the Holy Orenian Empire – Helena, Haense, Kaedrin! You have a voice! You have a BELLOW! YOU HAVE A ROAR, AND THE TIME HAS COME TO USE IT!
