[Ramon Casas, 1899]

The Naumarian word Auwen translates to “One” in the Common Tongue, which is an important number to reach in this game of cards and fate.  The game was originally played by Sosina and her sister, Ingrid, while they were young and kept within the Mondstadt Estate.  It was often meant as an entertaining way to pass the time for the bored youths, who weren’t allowed outside often until they were older.  Despite having more freedom now, the game of Auwen still remains as one of Sosina’s favorites.

How To Play?

  • At least two people are required to play, though the amount of players can go up to four.
  • Seven cards are dealt to each player, while the rest are placed face down between them all.  One person is selected to play the first card, which is laid face up - passing the turn to the next player.
  • The next player must either:
    • Play a card matching the one shown in number, color, or symbol.
    • Play a Wild Card.
    • Or, if they cannot do either of those options, draw cards from the face down deck until one is playable.
  • If you manage to have only one card left within your hand, you must shout, “Auwen!
  • The first person to play all of their cards is victorious.
