Sander 3312 Share Posted November 9, 2020 Karl Amador Re-election Platform My fellow Hansetians,About four years ago, I announced that I was running to become Grand Maer of New Reza. I won that campaign and since then, I have with great pleasure and joy functioned as your Maer. However, I feel that those four years are not all I have to offer to our city and its great people. It is therefore that I will be running for re-election in this General Election! For this occasion, I’d like to provide a brief overview of what I have done in the past years, and what I plan to do upon re-election. If your mind is already made up and you’re voting for me, possibly again, I thank you heartily, for it is your votes that allow me to do this wonderful job. In the case that you are not yet certain about who you’ll vote for, then allow me to attempt to convince you! What I have done:-Established an awarding ceremony of civilian medals of honour to those who deserve it for their diligent efforts in service of this city, community or country. This Eagle and Cross of St. Otto has been awarded to four excellent individuals so far, and I intend to add more people to that list in the future.-Set up a subsidies program for businesses to alleviate some of the tax burden upon their properties and thus encourage the local economy. Some business owners have so far taken me up on this offer, but I believe something like this can be improved upon.-Ran a book donation initiative for the Library, to bring the community together in achieving a set charity goal together. It was a major success, with the goal of one chest of books being reached with ease, which showed how much we can achieve when we work together and also provided the library with a lovely expansion of their collection for the citizens to read.-Joined in the Queen’s Council as Her Majesty’s Secretary, to work with them in establishing events like the Festival of Spirits that was held recently, as well as some other events that are still in the works.-Established a City Archive within the town hall to provide accurate recordkeeping about local affairs for the future generations, including an overhaul of Mayoral administration and the establishing of city districts.-Ran a survey for the Hansetian populace to get a more indepth view on their place in society and the likes, which upon request from the High Steward will partly be incorporated in the next Census with my help.-Going out and talking a lot to the citizens of New Reza and Haense. I believe that while this is a simple deed, it is highly underrated and it is essential for a good Maer to break the ice and get to know his citizens well so that there’s less of a gap between the local government and the people. I got to know many nice people in recent years, and I try to check up on them as much as I can. I’ve tried to listen to what bothers them and what ideas they might have, so that I might attempt to do what I can to help them.-Gotten the High Pontiff to provide mass again, something that was requested by many citizens, as we haven’t had much church activity in our pious city for years. After extensive writing with the Holy See and going through the resignation of our Bishop and the placing of a new one, I’ve finally gotten it done, and a mass is scheduled to be held within the Basilica of the Fifty Virgins soon. What I will do:-Focus more on the organization of events: I had promised and also planned to do more events than I have done. We’ve gone through some tumultuous times lately with the Inferi war, which made it feel inappropriate to host some of the events I had in mind. However, with some events still planned and me being full of ideas for future ones, I plan to organize more in the future, especially with the help of the Queen’s Council.-Stay in contact with the Church for more activities from them: We’re at a point now where Church activities such as mass or classes can be provided again with ease, so I definitely plan to stay in contact with His Holiness to organize more of such activities.-Keep working on administrative work, and bonding with the community: I think this should speak for itself. The administrative infrastructure I have set up and the bonds I’ve made with some of the wonderful people that live in this city are efforts more than worth continuing on and so I will.-Work more with institutions like the Library, Academy and NGS: While I’ve done some work with the Library and NGS already, I think more can be done to provide an enjoyable cultural experience in cooperation with their organizations and the local government. I am also working with the Academy on providing some Lectures on politicology and how to enter politics, besides general cooperation with them. With kind regards and high hopes, your Grand Maer, K.
