A few years ago I set out on a journey. For what purpose, I do not even know. Something just ate at me, clawing every opportunity it could get. I was in no shape to run a settlement nor lead. I needed to leave, to put this clawing sensation at ease. So with that in mind, I set out and did not look back. There is this rumor in my family, we tend to be more rash, more aggressive, more bloodthirsty in certain scenarios. To put it mildly, under certain circumstances, rage and bloodlust fill overcome us and dominate our actions. My father was known to have bits of rage as was my grandfather. Knowing this, I wondered if I too inherited this trait. It was not until nine years ago I discovered I did.

I will leave it out, but at the time I needed to escape- to find an outlet. I’d spent months prior studying chi, whenever I traveled to the monastery, I felt at ease. A calmness washed over me upon entering the area. It was a feeling unlike no other. From that point on, I knew I needed to spend more time there, if not learn their ways so that I might better keep my temper. With this newfound knowledge, I decided it was time to return to port. A captain should not stay away from his ship for too long after all.
