Resignation of Heinrich Argos

8th of Snow's Maiden, 11 SA

Multiple copies of the letter are placed around Leumont's streets and houses.

Courageous people of Leumont, allow me to first begin with a word of thanks. When I first came to Norland I found myself with nothing to my name except a handful of companions and a sword at my side, I did not even share the same faith as the populace. It is the people of Leumont who welcomed a man foreign to them into their lands and allowed my companions and I to stay under no conditions, and without them I fear I may have fallen into a dark path of criminal activities. These past four years I had the honor to serve as the appointed Colonel and right-hand man of Commander Methas and Jarl Jolfrey of Leumont, and I did my best to devote my life to the people who welcomed me so warmly. In the many trainings and battles I have had alongside the Guard, I must say there is no better force I would rather fight beside in my entire life.

In recent months I have found myself overly stressed in military leadership, seeing many of my friends be cut down from one battle or becoming crippled in another. The weight in which I carry as Colonel of the Guard is a heavy burden, and I feel now is the time to be relieved of it. I am aware the matter of my succession may be one to cause worry, however I have decided to nominate the one whom I wish to succeed me should Jarl Jolfrey allow it. For many months Lieutenant Daniel, more commonly known as 'Rusty Dan', has shown her devotedness to the Leumont cause. In many trainings and battles she has shown leadership skills beyond what I have seen before, and she has never once cowered in the face of death. It is this and more that I nominate Lieutenant Daniel as my official successor as Colonel of Leumont. Together, I pray Leumont may strive to achieve glory never seen before in our lives.

Signed,

Heinrich Argos, Former Colonel of Leumont.
