Jude II nods in approval upon seeing the General Order, commenting within the halls of the Papal Apartments, "Despite conflict, we are all human. I pray these grieving families and the men who..." The aging Pontiff paused, allowing a sigh to escape him, "who find themselves- themselves passed on, on either side get the time of grief and rest they deserve, respectively." Jude signed the cross then, to which a present Acolyte did in tandem. "May the Orenians and Sedanites will God upon these torn planes, for God is peace and so shall He bring calm in this time of war." The Vicar of God proceeded to begin writing a letter to the Arch Chancellor and the Committee on Public Safety; one of thanks for laying his concerns to rest.

Ser Gustaven von Halsfield's eyes narrow while reading the General Order, particularly focusing on the middle section. "Traitors found guilty either through witness of an act of treason by an officer or a military tribunal .." he'd say speaking aloud to himself, continuing after briefly pausing, "So, you're telling me that all it takes as this point is for a military officer to simply 'witness' evidence of a supposed crime for it to be considered legitimate and valid? That somebody's guilt is entirely dependent on what a potentially biased military officer has to say?" his mouth would purse "So, if for example the ever-so-respected Major Erik Othaman had unreasonably-based suspicions regarding a certain member of Orenian society .. then all it would take to convict said person is for the Major to simply accuse him of treason?" Gustaven would blink slowly, "Correct me if I'm wrong, for I'm not a grossly incompetent and horrifically biased Ministry of Justice judgebut that doesn't sound like 'justice' to me - that sounds like the abuse of power."

...ever-so-respected Major Erik Othaman...

Major Erik Othaman chuckles to himself as he finishes up his paperwork for the day, reaching for his tankard of Carrion Black. He'd lounge back in his uncomfortable, high-backed chair as he took a large swig. "I'm popular, it seems!" he'd comment to himself contently.
