Gobb'Mar 67 Share Posted October 2, 2011 Here's a medium-sized tent-like structure. Same style, but I prefer the look of this to my initial structures. Then I took the roof design and made it into a tent, just because I liked the red wool and thought it looked a little more tent-like and less housy. If I were you, I would stick to your old design, I think it looks much better. Besides, it wouldn't make sense for us to go back to tents of that style, after building large structures such as the Warlord's Palace. --- Orcish Domestic Hut MaterialsSandStone BricksRed WoolFencesPine WoodChestsRedstone TorchesSignsWooden Pressure PlatesWooden PlanksOrange WoolBedsCrafting TablesBookshelvesIron BarsNetherrackStone Brick Slabs Dis be me's concept for tent home. Dis be entrance to bottom floor. Dis be bottom floor. It has two beds for mummy and daddy orcs, and two chests for each o' dem. It has two seats and two workbenches for mummy and daddy orcs also. Dis be fire pit in bottom floor. It has nice cosy fire for warmth and light, and four furnaces so mummy can cook pork. Dese be da stairs to da top floor. Outside so dey not take up too much room. ((I also think they look better here.)) Dis be top floor when you enter. It has hole in middle so smoke not stink up da bottom floor. ((Practical over aesthetic.)) Baby orcsies stay up here. Dey has one chest between them, a workbench each, a chair each, a bookshelf, and two chairs and table for eating. Bookshelf for orcsies who want ta be shaman. Table to eat and window. Side, aerial view. Bird's eye view. (( If you like it give it a +1; don't like it, give it a -1. It helps me if you leave feedback too! :) ))

Sultan 3953 Author Share Posted October 2, 2011 First attempt at a large and small tent-like structure. I'll be building more, so let me know what y'all like and dislike so I can tweak things as I go. The large tent has an unlit fireplace in the center, when I lit it in single-player it burnt down half my work, but it should be fine in SMP. falls in love with the big hut also kokos new hut is cool

moondoggy 27 Share Posted October 3, 2011 In the new map word is Orcs will be the main loggers so we will be using wood much more and be more Nomadic as we follow the forests and clear cut our way. Perminent structures like walls, forts, castles and roads will still be mostly sandstone and stone probably. here's a fort/outpost probably near boarders of desert and logging area side view top floor outpost bottom floor/store room outpost heres a few tent houses. top floor bigger house bottom floor bigger house top floor smaller house bottom floor smaller house

Durzio 29 Share Posted October 4, 2011 we are trying to move away from sandstone I would like it more if the rood was made of other materials wool? ((how are you planning on moving away from sandstone? you live in a desert,so unless you trade a lot,or steal from other lands forests wood and other materials arent redally available.sand is pretty damn abundant in the desert,so making sandstone is easy.it only makes sense that orcs use sandstone. :/))
Urahra 5781 Share Posted October 4, 2011 I think in the new map, we'll be in an area with more trees and things. Anyway... I see everyone seems to be using red wool. Are red and orange the official colors of the orcs? I'm working on a hut and I'm wondering if I can use some different colors.

No, I've never heard about them being official, but a lot of the red you see in Sanjezal now i just liked to add to structures b/c it went well with sandstone. As far as i know, Mogroka likes the red and orange wools because of what the colors represent (blood (red) and monsters (orange?)) Just make what you want and throw it up, would like to see them! Urahra 5781 Share Posted October 4, 2011 Maybe we can associate color with social rank? Powerful, high status orcs get huts with red wool, soldiers get orange, civilians get brown? But that would suggest that orcs have social classes or a caste system, which we don't. Hmmm... Well, I'll keep working on mine and see how everyone likes it. mr.derp 2 Share Posted October 4, 2011 How about we build tents with black or white wool, and the more you kill and the more famous you become you can start adding red wool to your tent.

And no, we don't have social castes, we have army ranks. I think certified Shamans should also get a colour. It's a nice way to show your achievements. :)
Petyr 485 Share Posted October 4, 2011 How about we build tents with black or white wool, and the more you kill and the more famous you become you can start adding red wool to your tent. Something like that would be pretty neat, similar to the Dothraki in "A Song of Ice and Fire".
