The Fakhr Oasis grows, and as it grows, it flourishes. Change mingles with tradition. The meeting tent and marketplace, those built to be taken down and moved at a moment’s notice, those wide, airy tents symbolic of the tribe's foundation, slowly transformed into grand sandstone buildings filled with beauty. These buildings evoke new change, a push for transformation in a way that yet recalls the tribe’s humble traditions, but as a permanent residence in the land Allah has blessed the tribe with. An ever-present reminder that what has been given, even the sturdiest foundations can also crumble away.

Falcons soar to every part of Almaris, carrying flyers to taverns, dropping them down chimneys, and sticking them in every nook and cranny accessible. The flyers depict details of a food and drink festival that will take place to commemorate the completed construction of the new Harir Marketplace and Masjid, marking the beginning of a new future in the Oasis. The festival, hosted by our very own Halwa Bakery and Waha Lounge, will have a variety of samplings of traditional foods and drinks. Music, dancing, and games seek to bring light and energy to the festival. An itinerary is attached to each flyer, listing the various activities that will be presented.

Hakim Al-Hattan reads over a flyer his children had handed to him, as he'd wander the streets he'd see the excitement and anticipation evident on all the local's faces "You've once again outdone yourself, Zahra!"

Diana d’Azor would smile brightly as she read the missive that came to her from her blue jay. “How exciting! I am sure that this event will be glorious with GOD’s help at that! Better not rain!” She would say with a small laugh as she wrote down the time and date on her calendar.
