winterblood 11181 Share Posted December 7, 2021 Spoiler Woldzmir after dusk, 1849 A public letter is addressed to the newly ascended Emperor and Empress of the Holy Orenian Empire To the Imperial Majesties, Upon the reception of this letter, House Tuvyic of the Barony of Woldzmir hereby acknowledges and respects the titles attained by His and Her Imperials Majesties, the Emperor Philip III and Empress Anastasia of the Holy Orenian Empire. Before House Tuvyic is to perform an official pledge of loyalty, I would request that I be made just one simple assurance. Fret not, for I’ve no intent of spurring conflict or by making any petty acts of rebellion. I only wish for the comfort of knowing that my beloved mother and sister aren’t at any risk of being harmed or casted out from the Empire’s territories. In your public letter addressed to His Late Majesty, Philip II, you had accused him and the late Prince Philip Aurelean to have been corrupt, feeble, and lecherous men that had led this Empire into a stage of darkness. Words I agree with. I will not deny the fact that the relationship between myself and my Imperial step-father was an unsteady one; I held no respect or kindness for the man after I had learned of his lack of control for his lust and flirtatious advances to the fairer ladies of the court; he had dishonored my mother greatly. Beside that, he had been foolish with the decisions I had witnessed him make; having entirely disregarded any advice and warnings of mine in handling a spectre which haunted the palace grounds. His thoughtless actions had cost an ISA man his life that day. As for Philip II, I held less respect nor had I desired to be in his presence for long. At first, I thought him to be a man who put forth too much of an effort to be seen as pious where I had wondered if it had all been a facade. I had chosen to disregard him, though soon came to dislike him further after he had made a secret offer of marriage to me. An offer I immediately declined, yet kept secret from the court out of my concern of becoming a victim of spite from the late Emperor. With his passing, I see no reason to remain quiet over the matter. I speak of this pair and your letter because of my mother’s previous affiliation to them. She had been the wife to Prince Philip and was meant to rule beside him as Empress, though that was before his untimely passing in this past year. I would hope that she is not regarded similarly to my step-father, or step-grandfather. My mother is a woman who is strong of spirit and compassion, especially for my sister and myself. Part of why she had been so willing in her marriage to Prince Philip was because of her desire to ensure my sister and I had everything that she thought we deserved. I wish to know that she will remain welcomed and respected within the Empire and your Imperial Court, despite who her past husband was. She had not married for love for him, but for love of her daughters and this Empire. Assure me of this, so that House Tuvyic can pledge its oath of loyalty to the Imperial Throne with a sound mind. I shall offer my wisdom and knowledge to the Crown upon request, including my craft in the alchemical arts and vast collection of books, while maintaining peace in the forests surrounding Dobrov and Woldzmir. Though, there is one final request I must make in mention of my connection to Dobrov. When the Imperial Cabinet had sought to return the title to me, the County of Dobrov had been taken from the Carrion-Tuvyic name - which was then reduced to Tuvyic. I was made Baroness of the castle Woldzmir, while a Lord Mayor managed the hamlet instead; however, the position of Lord Mayor has been left vacant upon your ascent to the throne. I would not wish to see Dobrov abandoned and request that I be given reign over it again, so that I may be able to breathe life into it once more. Eryane 3698 Share Posted December 7, 2021 TRH Baroness of Woldzmir, Anna Elizaveta Tuvyic, Your mother, the Dowager Duchess of Adria, is an Orenian citizen. As such, she is afforded and shall always be afforded the rights and freedoms as any other Orenian. Precisely the same may be said for your sister or any others who are in fear of retaliation for their previous affiliations to the late Emperor Philip II. The Orenian populace is not responsible for the actions of Philip II, and should suffer no consequences as a result of any close relations to him. Afterall, His Imperial Majesty and myself did not return to these lands with goals of conquering the empire; they were dreams of liberating it. I hope she may feel as welcome in the capital city of New Providence as any other. If there are any issues with this, or if she is mistreated by any for her previous affiliations, please inform me by letter and I shall swiftly deal with the matter. In light of the circumstances surrounding Dobrov, you are granted the full authority invested in what was once the position of Lord Mayor. The land that previously encompassed what was the Municipality of Dobrov is henceforth the Barony of Woldzmir, guided by your jurisdiction. Given time, you may be granted the County of Dobrov as a result of the progress made in restoring the land and good service to the empire. IN NOMINE DEI, HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY, Philip III, Holy Orenian Emperor, forever August, King of Renatus, Curon, Kaedrin, Salvus, and Seventis, Grand Duke of Ves, Helena, Novellen, Furnestock and Lorraine, Baron of Renzfeld, Protector of the Heartlanders, Orenian Highlanders, and Farfolk, etcetera HER IMPERIAL MAJESTY, Anastasia of Kositz, Empress consort of the Holy Orenian Empire, Duchess consort of Furnestock
