It is with great regret that I must inform you all of my beloved Mother’s passing. The Lady Evangéline Halcourt d’Artois was a light to the others in her life, and we know that many of her friends and family may find themselves confused at her final end. In truth, she died as she lived. On the fateful evening, Lady Evangéline found herself in my study, entreating myself and my blessed betrothed on the affairs of our realm.

Perhaps due to my negligence, I had mentioned again the worrisome capture of my brother, whom our Mother cared deeply for. At the same time, she had meant to spit out a leftover piece of a cigarette she had been smoking, the fourteenth of the day. With the mention of her other son, a gasp had left her lips, and unfortunately the piece became lodged in her throat.

We attempted all manner of manoeuvres to get it dislodged, but alas, GOD chose that night to become her final day. We are sad to see her go, but glad to watch her leave, as she has left us doing what she loved.

May she find as much smoke as she can withstand in the afterlife. GOD bless.

Evangeline didn't have hardly any time to even think about what was occurring to her. Just as soon as she had begun to grab another cigarette from her pouch, she was choking on the last. A fitting end, she thought for a moment. As her vision darkened, she could only think about how proud she was of her son, the Baron of Artois. Besides, if he did wrong she could always just return to haunt him. With this final amusing thought, she slipped away into the great empty.

The former Baroness d'Artois was then stuffed away in the crypt of Chateau d'Aiguillion where she now lay in her tomb which she'd reserved for herself - at the helm of the catacomb. Pray she never rises, for no cigarette will be safe.

"My cousin! No! This... You had been like the evil sister! Dammit! Woman! Well.. may you rest..."

The woman coughed. Blood coming out from her mouth. Cleaning the stains on her face with a napkin while she crumples up inside of her bed. Looking rotted and sickly, the Baronetess perhaps was in her final days as well.

Henrietta von Preussens, positioned at the flank of her betrothed, casted Arnaud a sympathetic glance-- sparing him a rare thought of compassion-- one of the few emotions she revealed to him nowadays, "You do not deserve all the pain you're going through," She uttered bleakly, her porcelain countenance shadowed with guilt. She awkwardly lingered for a moment longer before she moved off, leaving the Baron alone once more.

Casimira reminisces the times she had with her mother; memories of gossiping about the other Orenians and their mishaps.  After reading the missive a couple times, a tear would start to form that rested on her eyelid. The verklempt Halcourt would squint at one part, "Ever since he was born, he was a burden." She would say with a loud exhale, thinking for a moment to herself. "I always told her to stop smoking too."

Darius had been in Vienne, coordinating the various patrols and constructing defences against the dastardly peasent rebellion which grew more and more in the north of the city. As he stood atop the Viennan walls to view the forest behind the city a courier boy would hurridly handed him a letter, perplexed by this he would immediately unwrap it as to read its contents, after a few moments of this he would toss the missive into the canal below as he then took to a full sprint, running off the wall and as far as he could until no soul, not a single being was in his vacinity. He now stood over an open plain which over looked the ocean, after recuperating from the crazed sprint the pent up emotions then suddenly came back to him causing him to  fall onto his knees, the sorrow which he felt causing him to be unable to close his maw "I.. I  tried so hard to gain your love.. for you to look at me.. mother.." He'd manage to mutter, tears welling up in his eyes as he'd begin to weep "All these years of work.. working to become a knight.. gaining favour within the nobility.. with the royalty.. it accounts for nothing if you're not here.. and even now.. Arnaud chooses to use your death to defame me.." He would then raise his head toward the sky, gritting  his teeth "GODWhat is it that you wish of me..? The places I could once call home now close their doors on me, The families which I could once call my own shun me away, the kingdom which I've served since childhood now faces its destruction, the woman I loved is off to be married by my own kin, and now.. my mother. You've taken everything from me, now I ask, what do you want of me?!" His fist would hit against the ground as he constructed the list, his voice breaking upon the last query as he'd lean forward into the grass, his handsacting as the only thing between his head and the dirt "I can't hear you.."
