Depiction of Teft Barclay’s trial by ordeal

Amongst many decisions and talks held during the First Leonite Moot of Minitz, the final petition was brought forth by Chieftain Siegfried Barclay. The Chieftain, in turn, made to summon forth the Bailiff of Brandthof, Teft von Minitz. It was thus that Lord Siegfried indicated before all those sitting, that he felt close ties to our Bailiff, almost familiar ties.

 

In shock of all those tribesmen present in the Leonite moot, Lord Siegfried thus pointed to the most undeniable proof of Teft’s Barclay heritage. HIS HAIR WAS GOLDEN. It was thus that it became apparent to all amongst them, Teft’s hair truly was gold, Barclay gold. A long lost babe of Reinmar, the Bailiff admitted to have been raised near the woods of the Duchy of Reinmar.

 

To confirm this belief, perhaps a revelation finally brought affront to all by GOTT, our Lord, Ser Uther thus proposed that a trial by ordeal was held, as per tradition of the Kanun. The potential Barclay was to be thrown in the river. Were GOTT to allow to float, he’d be known as a Barclay. If he drowned, it’d be known by all that he was an enemy spy.

 

Before all witnesses brought forth, TEFT FLOATED! His Barclay upbringing was thus undeniable, the blood of Barclay flows in his veins, the blood of Reinmar was truly his.
