Faithful servant of snow, cloaked in shadow, fulfills their duty.

An effigy of no distinction, no name, face, or creed, but one that stood broken and decrepit within the square of those who follow the moon. Tongues of red and gold engulfing the holy offering, this terrible warning.

A blooded boar, all within made without, with heart in mouth, awaiting the feast that is to come.

The pale servant prepares all, as is necessary, as is dutiful. Dagger splitting that still warm flesh of a not-yet-dead hunt, muttered words and small hums of a song no one knows. Placed at the feet of carefully piled timber, careful as to not be engulfed by the holy flame that swallows the humble offering.

And then that moonlit servant watched gleefully, as life finally drained from their offering, as flame found no more to burn on that barely together effigy. A few moments of silence, of blood pooling at her feet, before a simple note is pinned between the shoulders of a wooden man.

“The Serpent’s jaws await The Black God.”

A warning to the Maehr of Nor’Asath, though it is the choice of mortals as to heed it or ignore such infernal whispers.
