“It’s an already inside outside,

The philosophers say it’s the soul

But it’s not the soul: it’s the animal or the man itself

In its way of existing.”

“ilMaehr'sae Ilkun'ehya”, known in the common tongue as “with knowledge and steel”, is the idea which carved the ideals and values of the Celian people. Ideals that transcend the average mind and encourage carving their paths through history with steel and the knowledge that they have gained throughout the lifetime of an elf. It is taken for its meaning in a literal and metaphorical context for what ideals that a Celia’norian holds dear to them. To take what one earns either by wit or steel, defending their homeland no matter the cost, using their intelligence to develop beyond what is known; all things that encompass what leads someone to the ideals of ilMaehr’sae Ilkun’ehya.

 Born from the ashes of stagnation and damnation of the ‘aheral rose the Silver Phoenix, Ivarielle Ibarellan I, who stated no more to the philosophy that had led the high elven people to their decay. Within the Silver State of Haelun’or, there was nothing more than a hollow idea of what the people should follow in order to come out ahead. The laziness of the government within Haelun’or caused the demise, and a rift within the people upon discontent growing in what few remained. They became the laughing stock of the realm’s political entities and there was nothing the government did about it. Ivarielle took notice of this plight that had plagued them for several centuries and took up the philosophy of ilMaehr’sae Ilkun’ehya to ensure that while one may pursue all of the knowledge there is in this realm and others, they had the strength to protect their people. When the Principality of Celia’nor was established, she ensured that any threat that may come would be met with steel and to ensure they could develop their ideas and inventions without fear of cowering in the dark.

It is a philosophy born from not only speaking it, but proving that there is weight to the phrase “ilMaehr’sae Ilkun’ehya”. When the West was threatened by uruk who had made unfair demands of those that were there, it was Ivarielle who led the armies of Malinor and the Celia’diraar to it’s defense, ensuring no one threatened the west again. A nobility system based on the merit of the Talonii was established to ensure that the upper echelons of society remained motivated. The advancements of society did not stop at steel, studies of the arcane went beyond that of the norm when magic progressed farther than the usual; ear cuffs that played music, a self-functioning tavern, streets lit at night by magelights, mirrors that give fashion advice, and even handheld crossbows that stun with gusts of air for the military.

This mindset has led to the high elves to not focus on one talent within their lives, but using their extended lifespans to pursue a multitude of paths. Scholars learn military prowess in order to defend themselves and their works if necessary, Diraar receive an education to apply their knowledge onto the battlefield, painters can be also politicians with the arts encouraged as much as the rest. There is certainty that the one thing that a Celia’norian will not pursue is weakness and stagnation, they overcome anything against all odds, and that is the epitome of;
