THE TAX CONCESSIONS LAW

Issued and Confirmed by the 1st Government of Wards

on the

20th of Godfrey's Triumph, 1933

 


 

PREAMBLE: The Ward Representatives dedicate their time, effort, and expertise to address the concerns and needs of their respective wards, contributing significantly to the overall well-being and development of their communities. Providing tax deductions to a Ward Representative whilst in office is vital in acknowledging their invaluable contributions and ensuring their financial security after years of dedicated public service.

 

SECTION. I. Definitions of Terms

 

(a) Ward Representative - Representatives of the people of Whitespire, specifically the ward in which they reside.

 

(b) Concession - A reduction granted to a certain individual or group on a product, service, or property.

 

(c) Municipality - an administrative entity responsible for governing a town or geographic area and providing various public services and facilities to its residents.

 

SECTION. II. Establishment of the Tax Concessions Program

 

(a) Solely intended for ward representatives who actively serve in the City Assembly, as determined by the Edict of the Municipal Government of Paradisius.

 

(b) Determined by the length of service, allowing for concessions strictly when actively serving in the City Council.

 

(c) The Program ensures that tax concessions are provided efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations through cooperation with the Steward Representative.

 

(d) Adequate safeguards shall be set in order to prevent any misuse or abuse of the pension system, ensuring that only eligible ward representatives receive the benefits. These include the following:

 

i. The Ward Representative is and remains a citizen of Whitespire throughout the duration of their term

 

ii. The Ward Representative is and remains Canonist throughout the duration of their term

 

iii. The Ward Representative is and remains not part of the Inner Council of Aaun throughout the duration of their term

 

iv. The Ward Representative is and remains not a peer of the realm, unless situated and living within the royal capital throughout the duration of their term

 

v. The Ward Representative attends and participates in all council meetings throughout the duration of their term 

 

SECTION. III. Payment - By fulfilling the aforementioned criteria, a Ward Representative shall be entitled to a discount of (x) mina on one property whilst actively on the City Council until their leave of office. The specified discount may be subject to amendments, which require a vote by the Ward Representatives and subsequent approval from the Lord Mayor and the Treasurer.

 

(a) Only one discount is allowed per property
