How to go about RPing as a dark/evil mage

((I have been thinking about Magic on the new 1.9 server ( or when ever it get added ) and if the magic works right i want to be a dark mage, but i have been thinking how would i go about this?

The few things that have got me is my back story for my adv villain app and my magic and how my character turned evil, i dont want it to be normal like my family was killed by orc or such. but what ideas do you have? should i just fall to the power of the dark side? or think up a more bigger plot on how i turned evil))

(( i want to have it so my character turned evil in the current world aswell do you think this would work? ))

(( im also doing this with a friend but he has a different from of dark magic (This is because some RP stuff that is going on right now) do you think it could work with my friend, If you wanna know why his magic will be different just say ))

Well maybe you could go corrupt as your love one died and you try to find ways to bring them back from the dead eventually corrupting your inner soul. As magic isn't out yet make sure you don't assume you'll get access to it when it gets out. There will be a application process.

You should perhaps only think about it now; plenty of things may change with magic. I think a fun explanation would be the accidental murder of a loved one, and going through denial for an extended period of time.

How about: You apply to be a healer or something when magic apps come out; you soon end up trying to ressurect the dead, turning you into some sorta necromancer!

The loved one angle is definitly viable- go for it yaw!

i been thinking about this, my character could be a normal mage, when the person she loves fall sick and she finds out it a taint and she cant find a way to heal him with normal magic she turns to the dark arts, were she find a spell that will allow him to control the taint but as she is a mage she cant mine or look in the forest for the items she need and to buy them she will need alot of minas, beaning a mage and spending her hole life training she has no minas so she turns to the dark arts and starts attack and robbing people, she soon finds that this wont pay for the items that she needs, so she starts to do more acts of evil like kidnapping people and ransoming them (( slavery is not allowed is it?)) untill she start to do any job if it pays the might amount, she start to get corrupted by the dark arts and the evil deeds, once she does get the items and does the spell she find that she has corrupted the land around the mage tower, and that the taint has changed his magic he can use dark magic but his is more self hamming from the taint (( like blood magic from dragon age))

what do you guys think?

maybe she can also find that she has to get minas say like golem off lord of the rings

Perhaps, you have come across an Undead staff, only just reaching magehood, you are not yet at your full power, the stave has little traces of the Undead taint still remaining, slowly reaching out and taking over your mind. You are not accustomed to such magic as you are new, not realizing what it is doing before it is too late.

How about when magic is released, you apply to be in the Mage's Guild(Or what ever it is called), but you will be denied the right. In your anger, you turn to the Dark Arts to seek revenge on those that denied you the right to be a Mage.
