The Freeport of Chambery has had troubling and difficult times in the past decades having suffered much during the war most of all through the constant raids forcing the museum to close down forcing the shops to close or even leave and many of its citizen to pack up and seek refuge behind the walls of Vallagne. These things have caused much damage to the once proud little port city losing a lot of its splendor as even after the war crime and theft continued to thrive in the port city for quite for some more time.

Peace and security has long since been restored and most of the citizen have returned to the Free Port. Sadly not all of its citizens have returned and the scars of these troubled years still remain,  which is why the Master and the Chamberian Chamber of Commerce and Culture have decided to embark on a large scale restoration of the Free city, reparing all damages done over the decades  and building up new buildings and public infrastructure to serve the citizens of Chambery.

The First phase of these extensive renovation and revitalization of the Free Port have already been completed. The town square of Chambery is shining with a new light. The damages have been repaired and all the barricades and shutters added during the war on the windows of the houses and museum have been removed. The Biggest changes come with the addition of a new Gate tower above the Vursur Avenue guarding the entrance to the town square as well as the addition of  three new houses and two new shops replacing two older and smaller houses that had suffered during the raids.

The Chambery square is now fully enclosed with some little opening towards the harbor left at the small town square restaurant. In Addition broken windows were repaired across the town and several muddy streets like Lyon´s lane were fully paved. Most Importantly the Museum is fully opened again, all the shutters from the war are removed  and sun light now enters into the exhibits Hall once more.

But these are not the only renovations planned for the Free Port. In the next Phase the Chambery Chateaux will be completely overhauled adding an observatory on top of its tower, adding new stables for Horses but also other farming animals for public use for all town citizens. A new large grand Hall for public gathering and events and a proper meeting Hall for town Meetings and so much more.

Lastly many events and projects are planned to revitalize the town as a center of culture and Scholarly endeavor as soon new specialized shops will open up, new laboratories and equipment will be made available for scholars like the aforementioned Observatory. We very much invite scholars to join us in Chambery, a town dedicated to supporting scholarly pursuits. Best example being the Northern Geographical Society which still is the major guild of Chambery with its large Museum and Library.

As it stands we have many lovely spaces for shops to be taken and several beautiful houses with the most lovely views into the valley that are up for grabs. So we encourage anyone who loves the little town life while also being close to the big city (Petra Capital City Vallagne is just a stone throw away!) to come and take a look and join us in Chambery. The hard times are over, peace is there and when there is peace, culture and commerce flourishes, Chambery flourishes.

signed. Nicolas Emmanuel von Wittenbach, Master of Chambery.
