If there was a singular thing that everyone who recalled Crothstad would mention, it was his armor, always worn and always clean regardless of the conditions that he was under. Whether for safety or comfort, one thing for sure is that it kept him alive and well for many years, oftentimes allowing Crothstad to slip into the wilderness undetected should you lose track of him for even the smallest of moments.

General Redlines

Spoiler

- All blood, mud, or other natural substances that would make one’s clothes dirty will simply slide off Nature’s Shroud, as if it was oil on water.
- Nature’s Shroud will keep the wearer naturally at an appropriate temperature, regardless of the biome they are in. This does not prevent them from fire-based attacks, ice attacks, or anything of the sort.
- While Nature’s Shroud can be cut or stabbed through, it will gradually repair itself after combat has concluded, over [1] IRL day.
- Nature’s Shroud has the protection of hardened leather.

- For the purpose of this CArt, a creature is classified as a player-played CA or a non-descendant non-player character, such as a deer for example.

Animalistic Camouflage [Combative]

By allowing the runes on Nature’s Shroud to charge, the wearer allows the armor to naturally blend into their environment, allowing the eyes of their foes to travel right over them as if they were not there. This requires [3] emotes to activate, [1] to place a hand onto the rune on the center of the armor, [1] for the rune to charge and emit a red haze, and [1] for the camouflage effect to take place. While camouflaged, creatures further than [5] blocks away will struggle to see the wearer, and will oftentimes completely overlook them.

The camouflage will cease to work should the wearer attack or become attacked, or if more than [6] emotes have passed since the camouflage began.

Animalistic Camouflage Redlines

Spoiler

- Will not have enhanced camouflage against player creatures unless OOC consent has been given and the wielder is on a hunt. Attacking an Azdrazi you stumbled upon is not a hunt, but stalking and attacking an encampment of some creatures could be.
- While the wearer can be camouflaged in combat, if they directly attack a creature or become attacked, it will cease to work.
- Creatures within [5] blocks of the wearer will be able to see them, furthermore, the wearer still makes sound and may be heard.
- Requires [3] emotes to activate, [1] to place a hand onto the center rune, [1] for it to charge with a red haze, and [1] for the effect to activate. It will naturally deactivate [6] emotes later.
- The camouflage will have reduced effects on descendants, allowing them to see the wearer from [10] blocks away.

Natural Protection [Combative]

While Crothstad was known to be especially agile when avoiding strikes, there were still instances when an animal caught him off guard. It is in these scenarios he would quickly activate Natural Protection, and with a flash of the runes on the armor, become protected from the strike as his armor quickly hardened. This requires [2] emotes, [1] to focus on the limb to harden as the runes begin to emit a red haze, and [1] for the armor covering the limb to harden, becoming as strong as steel. This will go away the next emote and has a cooldown of [3] emotes.

Natural Protection Redlines

Spoiler

- May only harden [1] limb at a time (either arm or leg), or the chest.
- The armor may still move like normal while hardened, but it will have the strength of steel for [1] emote.
- Requires [2] emotes to activate, [1] for the runes to glow on the targeted limb, and [1] for the armor to harden. This goes away the next emote and cannot be used for [3] emotes following this.
- While a limb is hardened, a red haze will cover it.

- Nautral Protection may only be used 3 times in the same combat scenario.

The Hunt’s Calling [Passive]

Rumored to be the reason that Crothstad never left the woods, upon wielding one of his relics the user would find that their mind becomes drawn towards large and difficult hunts. Often those who yield multiple relics would feel their minds before more instinctual, acting as if they were an animal themselves, with each relic drawing their mind further towards the great hunt.

Like the legendary Crothstad who yielded this relic in the past, the holder’s mind will undergo a wild transformation that scales depending on how many relics they possess. Someone who holds one relic, for example, may simply feel the need to hunt for all their food, though someone who holds three may spend hours of their day within the forest. Should all six successfully be brought together, the owner may lose their mind to the thrill of the hunt entirely.

The Hunt’s Calling Redlines

Spoiler

- Collecting one or two of the Crothstad Relics will cause the holder’s mind to be more inclined towards hunting. For example, they may feel the need to spend time out in nature or hunt for their own food.
- Collecting three or four Crothstad Relics will cause the owner to become more animalistic, oftentimes feeling a rush of intense adrenaline from hunting. They may operate more on instinct and may become upset if someone hunts on their land. The feelings that one feels towards the hunt are now akin to an orcish blood rush.

- Those with three or more artifacts will additionally become difficult to coordinate with and speak to, as their mind becomes obsessed with the hunt. They will no longer work well with others, and will not participate with other's plans.
- Collecting five Crothstad Relics will put the owner’s mind on the verge of becoming completely consumed by The Hunt. No longer would they willingly spend time in cities and eat food they did not hunt. The user will also feel heavily inclined to create shrines using animal bones, much as Crothstad himself did.
- Collecting all six Crothstad Relics will cause the owner to become completely lost in The Great Hunt, powerless to the desire to hunt larger and greater animals and creatures.
- The effects listed above are examples of what could occur at each tier, players are welcome to roleplay the effects more harshly or create new ones should they fit the theme.
- Even if stored away in a chest, the owner will still feel the effects of the relics as they call them towards The Hunt.

Explanation of the effects:

Nature's Shroud is the name of the leather armor that Crothstad once wore. Through the runes that he engraved upon it, the wearer is granted the ability the become incredibly difficult to see, allowing them to sneak up on and stalk their pray. Furthermore, the runes allow the wearer to harden one of their limbs so that they may quickly block a strike if a creature becomes too close.
