Spoiler

T1

- At this tier, the budding housemage cannot use any spells. They must spend their time honing their ability to tap into their inner mana using any method they find helpful. Some common ones are praying to whichever deity they believe in, meditation, or simple silent concentration and practise. Their aura may flicker a little around their hands while performing their chosen method, and tends to be very weak and pale.

- Lasts for one (1) IRL week (One RP year).

T2

- At this tier, the novice housemage has access to a fairly decent range of spells they can learn from books or a tutor. They may still struggle a little to tap into their inner mana, and spells may feel very draining. Their aura is not very bright and is of a low saturation, and patterns are not visible.

- Lasts for one (2) IRL weeks (Two RP years).

T3

- At this tier, the journeyman housemage is well-practised at connecting, although they may still feel a little tired after casting a large spell, or many small spells over the course of the day. Their aura is clear, but any patterns may be partially obscured.

- Lasts for two (2) IRL weeks (Two RP years).

T4

- At this tier, the experienced housemage finds it much easier to tap into their inner mana and cast spells, although they may get headaches after long periods of casting. Their aura is vivid and patterns shift between clear and dimmed.

- Lasts for three (3) IRL weeks (Three RP years).

T5

- At this tier, the master housemage has learned a good variety of spells, even without a tutor or reading books. They find it easy to tap into their inner mana, and can do so without so much as a grimace. Their aura is strong and bright, with any patterns easily visible.

Reasoning: Housemagic is meant to be a very simple magic, for that I believe it should take far less time to learn than a magic that is seen as more complex such as Voidal, Holy, Dark, etcetera.

Housemage here, I do agree that 12 weeks as a total for housemagery, a relatively light magic, can seem daunting (especially for humans). I would like housemagery to be an incredibly accessible magic, but I think 4 weeks is way too quick even for housemagery, where maybe a good middle ground would be 8 weeks.
My recommendation would be:
T1 -> T2, 1 week
T2 -> T3, 2 weeks
T3 -> T4, 2 weeks
T4 -> T5, 3 weeks

I agree with this sentiment. 12 weeks is a bit much, but 4 weeks seems far too short. Housemagery is a slice of life magic, so I feel like granting people more time to learn would give them that roleplay experience. It's not like there's teaching slots either, so the only limiting factor to the magic is the time it takes, plus there are self-teach books (that take the same amount of time) for people that have already had that roleplay experience and don't want to do it over again. Plus the time it takes guarantees (or tries to guarantee) that T5 housemages are experienced enough to teach, as housemagery does not have TAs.
