Every magic is abused by many of its players, that's how it goes, bad faith is a very common encounter in player-to-player CRP and things like this just shoot people that actually RP their magic correctly in the foot, there will never be a balanced magic because people will always find a way to use their magic to their advantage.

 

My only problem with this is in the amendment for Brisk Step, it's always been if you can hear an attack you can brisk step away from something. If you hear footsteps or running behind you, it makes sense you could get out of the way, because you have other senses besides sight. You should also take into account a Seer's Blindsight, this redline isn't covering all the bases it should be. This is one of its main uses and why it exists, to get out of immediate danger in a short distance but it's also very very easy to interrupt, and to be it doesn't seem necessary to further handicap it.

 

Another question, it doesn't make sense to not be able to decide to Brisk Step. It's a spell, you can just decide to do it when you want. Why would I not Brisk Step if I heard someone running up behind me? Why would I not Brisk away from a massive spell about to hit me? Or if someone shouts out an attack to warn me?

This resonates so hard. So many problems are not lore problems or writing problems.

 

It's a player base and lack of moderation problem. Bad faith roleplay is so abundant in CRP of any kind it's insane. It makes people think there's problems with lore like this amendment for brisk step for example when there isn't.
