annanicole__ 2802 Share Posted July 7, 2024 — 16th of Tobias’ Bounty 1984— Hi everyone in the Heartlanders Confederation and anyone else reading this! I'm Lorelei Mairi of Enswerp. I've been watching bugs near Cliffhaven Hall, and I asked my nanny to write down everything so I could share it with all of you! My Momma says sharing is really important sometimes. Here are a few bugs I found! I also asked my nanny to find pictures of all of them. I hope you like it! - Description: The Monarch butterfly is so pretty! It has bright orange wings with black lines and white spots on the edges. They're big, almost as big as my hand when they open their wings! They like to live near rivers and fields where they can find yummy flowers to drink nectar from. - Description: Swallowtail butterflies are super cool because they look like tigers with stripes on their wings! Some are yellow and some even have a little bit of blue. They flutter around flowers near cliffs and rivers. Did you know they lay tiny eggs on plants and then caterpillars come out and eat the leaves? - Description: Dragonflies are like flying dragons! They have long bodies and big, see-through wings that shimmer in the sun. They zoom around over the water where I go fishing with my Pa. Dragonflies catch bugs in the air with their sharp mouths. They come in lots of colors like blue, green, and even red! - Description: Damselflies are like dragonflies' little cousins. They're smaller and more delicate with skinny bodies and wings that look like they're made of glass. They like to rest on plants near the river. I saw one that was shiny blue once! They lay eggs in the water and their babies are like little bugs that swim. - Description: Cabbage White butterflies are small and white with black spots. They look like little fairies fluttering around our garden. Sometimes they fly near the river where the flowers are. They lay eggs on plants like cabbage. I think they're called that because they like to eat cabbage leaves! - Description: Ground beetles are tough little bugs with shiny bodies and strong legs. They scurry around under rocks and logs near the riverbank. I found one that was black with shiny green spots once! Ground beetles are good because they eat bad bugs that can hurt plants. These butterflies and insects are really neat to watch near cliffs and rivers. They're all different colors and shapes, and they help make the outdoors fun and exciting! — Her Ladyship, Lorelei Mairi of Enswrep
