TO THE PEOPLE OF THE THE GREAT CITY OF VALLAGNE

 

---

 

I have thought long and hard about this, but I decided to run for Mayor of Vallagne, not out of political gain, or need for higher office but because of my love for the city and the province. I have been a Citizen of The Province of Petra since it's beginning on this continent, lived in it for most of my life and served it for all of my adult life, as a builder, administrator, Chancellor of Petra and so much more.

 

I am of course the Bourgmestre (Mayor) of Chambery and lead the once small fishing village to becoming a small thriving city for scholars. Chambery and Vallagne have always had a close relationship helping each other through the years many times. As mayor of Chambery, and if elected of Vallagne I hope to strengthen that bond between Vallagne and Chambery even more.

 

I hope that my experience as Mayor of Chambery will prove me to be a great candidate as mayor of Vallagne, in addition I will also pledge never to seek higher offices like other mayor's before, I will never use this elected office as a springboard for a political career. I truly want to serve the peoples of Vallagne like I have served those of Chambery, becoming your Mayor to ensure that our community thrives. 

 

MY PLANS AND PROJECTS AS MAYOR-

 

 

1.REDIFINING THE ROLE OF MAYOR

 

For far to long the role of mayor stayed undefined, mostly in vallagne as one mayor after another took the position often leaving it promptly for various reasons. As it stands a mayor represents the city at the garmont assembly, making laws there, maybe holding events in their city at times but that is not what a mayor should only be doing, a mayor should be a community leader, bring their community together,  celebrating it. keeping it alive and growing. A mayor is a local leader, garmont, the council, the monarch do realm politics, a mayor should primarily concentrate on their city. As mayor I hope to bring in new life into the role, one closer to the peoples of Vallagne and province of Petra making sure that Mayor's are once more taking care of their city and their community.

 

2. AN EDICT OF CITIES

 

Our great realm already has an edict for Peers defining their rights and duties but we do not have an edict of cities giving them their rights and duties in the realm, something I hope to codify to ensure the liberties  and prosperity of all the cities in the realm. I hope to bring such a new edict forward to the garmont Assembly.

 

3. TOWNHALL GATHERINGS

 

Coming into office I will Host Town Hall meetings to gather around me citizens who wish to contribute to their great city, making it a better and more active place. I value the council of others very much and know that many citizens while not politicians do value being part of their cities and communities betterment.

 

4. EVENTS

 

I hope to hold many lovely local Events in Vallagne and the province, showing off all it has to offer and supporting citizens in hosting their own events, I have already successfully done thay in Chambery by opening up the Chambery Chateau for all citizens to use for their own events! While also giving aid in organizing and even paying for an event! something I hope to also do in Vallagne as events should not only be a matter for higher ups to do but anyone should be able to organise their own events in their city!

 

In addition I will lobby with the treasury to give cities money to host various events, to pay entertainers or give out as prize money for Contests.

 

5.SIMPLYFYING EVERYTHING 

 

I am a man who likes to keep things easy and simple, i have seen many governments and even Mayors doing very detailed and conplicated constructed things that will likely never or just work for a very short while, under my mayorship i will keep things easy and direct, i will remain very approachable and keep all the structures of the city simple.

 

6. LEADING VALLAGNE INTO THE FUTURE

 

With the advent on a new Capital city for the Heartlands, Vallagne will need to redefine itself together with the rest of the province, I hope to heavily participate in the rebuilding snd redesigning of the entire province and city, moving away from it being a simple royal capital city to making Vallagne and the Province of Petra as a whole into a hub for culture and studying. We have already monastery, Museums, Libraries,  universities around the region, I believe we should build upon thay and become The place In the world for everyone to study or take an apprenticeship.

 

POSSIBLE QUESTIONS TO MY CANDICACY-

 

Will you remain Mayor of Chambery if elected as Mayor of Vallagne?

 

Yes I will remain mayor of Chambery as I have been elected there for life and committed myself to perform my role there for life. Chambery is also part of the province of Petra and of course Chambery and Vallagne are two settlements that have always been close. In addition the whole province of Petra elects the Mayor of Vallagne, so I believe I can be both Mayor of Vallagne and Chambery, leading our combined community together. I have always loved and cared much for our whole province and vallagne and hope I can serve you all as your Mayor. 

 

Can you really take care of both Chambery and Vallagne at the same time?

 

It will be more work for sure, while both are two seperate cities as I have mentioned before Chambery and Vallagne have a symbiotic relationship, two settlements that work together closely. In addition with the advent of a new Capital city for the Heartlands Coming in the near future it is even more important to redefine our province and in extension the cities within it to ensure their continued prosperity in the future, perhaps in some future both Chambery and Vallagne could truly be twin cities working as one. What is for sure is that I will ensure the future of both cities and the province making sure it will continue to great bright future !

 

Will you represent both Chambery and Vallagne at Garmont?

 

I will submit myself to what garmont decides on that matter, if can represent both I will do so while also just having one vote, else I can find someone else in chambery to take the seat, I will be open to any and all options.

 

What made you decide to run for Mayor?

 

Well I couple things, I saw no one else was running and i believe it is important to have proper elections with at least two candidates else we may not have any elections anymore soon! Another reason is because I believe I can breathe some fresh air into position of mayor and push forward an agenda to make city communities more vibrant and important part of the realm. I do not believe that the current mayor has done a bad job or anything, I very much believe a

she has done a great and amazing job during her tenure! I just believe in proper elections with candidates to chose from for the citizens to have a choice, hence my candicacy for Mayorship
