VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK,

Over the last hundred years, our nobility has not upheld the historical and ancient duties of their stations. Many lords and ladies have neglected their responsibilities. The Crown deems it necessary to redefine and clarify the duties and responsibilities of the peers. This will be the first of many steps in rectifying the issues of the past.

Summary:

  • The addition of the rank of Edler (New Marian: Eidler) below the rank of Baron.
  • Those with the rank of Edler are allowed the following rights:
    • Right to host a family
    • Right to petition the Crown and request a private audience
    • Right to bear a heraldic coat of arms
    • Right and entitlement to be executed by way of beheading
    • Right to elect a Champion of Haeseni blood to fight on their behalf in a Trial by Combat
    • Right to a Regent in the event a Lord is below the age of Eighteen
    • Right to determine inheritance to titles with the Crown’s permission
  • Those with the rank of Edler are not entitled to land, do not sit on the Royal Duma, and cannot raise their own retainers, among other rights solely given to those of the rank of Baron and above.
