To Our Esteemed Customers and Fellow Traders,

 

I write to you today with a heavy heart, as the doors of our humble shop must soon close. The Kingdom of Balian, a place where we once flourished under the principles of free trade, has, of late, become a difficult land in which to do business. The strict gate controls imposed within the capital have made it near impossible to continue our operations, choking the lifeblood of commerce that once flowed freely through these streets.

 

Where once they greeted merchants and travelers with open arms, now they are turned away, delayed, or burdened with endless restrictions. The goods that should have filled our shelves have been left at the borders, and the business that sustained both us and the people of this city has dwindled to a trickle. No trade can thrive when freedom is stifled, and no livelihood can survive when doors are closed to the world.

 

It grieves me to say that, under these conditions, we can no longer sustain our shop. What was once a bustling beacon of trade and camaraderie has been reduced to a hollow shell by the suffocating policies of the crown. The very essence of the capital, its vibrancy and diversity, is slowly fading, and we, too, must fade with it.

 

We extend our deepest gratitude to all of you who have supported us through the years. Our shop was more than just a place of trade—it was a community, a gathering spot, and a testament to what can be achieved through open exchange and mutual respect.

 

While we close these doors for now, we will forever hope for a day when the gates of Balian will open once more, and trade—true, free trade—will be restored.
