PREAMBLE

A year or two has passed since the Petra held its national fishing bout, and it returned well attended, the crossing of rods and swinging of fishing bobs, the contest to name the Petra’s latest King-Fisher!

 

We honour the river every time we host such a competition, for it is she, the Petra, who is the life and the beating vein of the Commonwealth. From the Southern meadows of Renilcia to the Northern valleys of Ladyr the Petra flows, it is ever important to strike our focus upon her everysof’en. So the River Court does just that, in hosting the Garmont Throne’s subjects we show reverence for the Petra and she continues to prove to be the greatest gem of our river realm; knightly, blest and revered are we.

 

With distinction for our cultured river, and making a rousing return, the River Court names a new King-Fisher. The winner of the angling contest, which was held some time ago, was named with the title, and is graced as the greatest of fishermen in the Commonwealth, until they be unseated by another.

HIS FISHY MAJESTY

THE KING-FISHER

The forecast kinder than the last contest, happy sun and gentle winds, the Petrans came in greater number, ready to brave the river’s currents and make a good catch. Once more all made their way to the river docks of Chambery, where once more the contest was held. 

 

The fisher-contenders were bolder at this second instalment of the contest, some so keen to fish they did so by diving and snatching their catches with their bare mitts. But as is so often said, there can only be one winner, and so there was one winner, we name the spirited Thondorus Stafyr our reigning King-Fisher. His Fishy Majesty, the honorific Thondorus may proudly wear whilst he still bears the epithet of King-Fisher. And he may for some time, until a contest is held anew and another may rise to the challenge and claim the privilege of King-Fisher for themselves.
