[!] A depiction of the ceremony performed by Father Randir to grant eternal rest to the Marian soldier

Reminiscing us of the importance of caring for our lands, the Lands of the Canondom, The Holy Army of the Exalted issued a call for patrols, which was attended by several of its members accompanied by freemen from Salvo. The party led by Holy Ser Lughais and Barend de Ruyter set out for the western lands. From their stronghold at The Holy Regency, they rode through the various settlements along the way. Accompanied by 3 other soldiers, Rosalyn Yvaine van Leuven, Father Randir and Cedric Drakehart. They tested passers-by to ensure that there was no darkspawn presence on the roads. After several hours on horseback and after several settlements visited, as they were about to reach the Kingdom of Haense, they encountered something on the road.

A Marian soldier was patrolling the road with his sword drawn until he was stopped by the company. He was asked to perform a test to check that he was not a product of the darkspawn, but the soldier, watching the servants of GOD silently, without moving, held his sword steady. Suddenly, the soldiers noticed something terrible: the soldier's armour had a swarm of bees inside it! So the company drew their swords, dismounted from their horses and surrounded the soldier, who was still silent, still silent. After being ordered to remove his helmet, the Marian soldier showed his true face. He was already dead.

Finding himself surrounded and seeing that his time was at hand, the Marian soldier, outnumbered 1 to 5, began to speak. This was a soldier who had served the Kingdom of Haense in the Marian Wars over 25 years ago - wars in which he died. However, he displayed a demeanour worthy of a servant of GOD - he was not an evil creature, at least in soul, but in form. The soldier's last wish was to die what he had been doing all his life, serving. Thus, The Holy Army of the Exalted granted him his last wish, to die fighting valiantly. After its demise, the Revenant fell to the ground, leaving no trace but a small blue and white badge, it was a medal of valor.

The company left for the capital of the Kingdom of Haense, joined by the Salvo's Sheriff Marrin Wymrwood, they were motivated by the desire to hold a proper funeral so that the soldier could be laid to rest for eternity. There, Father Randir performed a mass in which he granted eternal rest to the ghost, so that he could go to the Seven Skies, leaving his past behind him, for he was not alive, but not dead either. As soon as the rest was granted, the badge, the only thing that remained of this soldier, rose into the air, as it disappeared, leaving nothing but dust around him.

It seemed that at last, after years of being lost, he had achieved his long awaited rest.

CEDRIC DRAKEHART, a faithful, a devout, a believer

"May the Lord grant the poor soul the peace it so deserves." The priest would cross the lorraine over himself as he reminisced about the patrol before resuming his priestly duties in Salvos.
