HEARKEN TO ME, HOUNDS OF THE ORDER ...

__aldrich_devourer_of_gods_dark_souls_an

A modpack inspired by Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, etc. This is a graphics-intensive pack and will not work on lower-end PCs or laptops without a lot of manual tweaking.

I have decidedly not included the beloved QOL mods such as Xaero's Minimap, AdvancedChat, etc, as I don't personally use them or I found them otherwise intrusive to the curated experience.

__________________________________________

The Origin Story ...

These mods make everything else work.

Spoiler

Fabric + Fabric API — Mod loader and matching API which allow all fabric mods to work.

Sodium + Indium — Rendering optimization, especially for use with IRIS shaders.

Cloth Config API + Architectury + CreativeCore + YACLConfig libraries required by other mods in this pack.

Entity Model Features + Entity Texture Features — Model and texture support for Sodium as well as certain resource packs.

The Health Potion ...

Quality of life mods which improve the general experience.

Spoiler

Bobby — Pushes render distances higher than what the server allows. Distant Horizons has mod conflicts with the rest of this pack, you HAVE to swap it.

Entity Culling — Skips rendering everything behind you, as well as anything that lies outside of your line of sight, such as blocks behind walls.

FerriteCore — Reduces the memory usage of the Minecraft client.

Figura — Allows you to extensively customize your persona through blockbench modeling as well as seeing other people's models.

Not Enough Animations — Improves animations for most actions in the game in both first and third-person.

The Monocular ...

Visual mods which add a little more.

Spoiler

IRIS — A shader pack loader.

Ambient Environment — Adds varied color noise to biome blocks, such as grass, water, and leaves, which will then have subtle color differences based on where they are in the world.

Continuity — Connects textures for glass, bookshelves, sandstone, and some other stone blocks.

Falling Leaves — Adds particle effects for leaf blocks where small leaves will periodically float down to the ground. Configurable to your preferences.

MAmbience — Adds dynamic particle effects to the world such as fireflies, blowing sand, cave dust, lava pops, etc.

Wakes — Adds simple wake animations to water when swimming or boating.

The Shrunken Ear ...

Audio mods which add a little more.

Spoiler

Sound Physics Remastered —  Realistic sound attenuation, reverberation, and absorption through blocks.

Ambient Sounds 6 —  Adds ambient noise to the world including (but not limited to) insect trills, birdsong, ocean waves, desert winds, and so on.

Medieval Music —  Changes the default Minecraft music to be more befitting of the medieval fantasy world.

Presence Footsteps —  Gives every block a sound that will play when walked over. Stone sounds dusty and rough, grass makes dry rustling noises, etc.

The Mana Tincture ...

Shader packs to improve the lighting and overall ambience.

USE ONLY ONE, TRAVELER.

Spoiler

Bliss Shaders —  A recreation and improvement of the original chocapic shaders that are highly customizable in-game through the shader options menu. Bliss adds, on top of the typical shader effects, a dynamic sky that changes every day/night cycle, biome specific environments with locational fog and lighting, and temporal upscaling to keep the performance at a manageable level.

Complementary Unbound —  An edit of the original BSL shaders with all the bells and whistles and two distinct styles.

Rethinking Voxels —  An edit of the Complementary shaders that provides volumetric voxel lighting.

Insanity Shader —  A stylized horror themed shader.

The Wyrd ...

Resource packs: the bread and butter.

Spoiler

Main Retexture Packs (choose one,)

Stay True —  Use this for a standard Vanilla+ experience.

Wanderlust —  Use this for a slightly mode medieval Vanilla+ experience.

Conquest —  Use this for a fully medieval experience — be aware that it turns most candles into small candelabras, so builds with a lot of candles on the ground will look a little silly.

Consider adding John's Dynamic Entities to any of the above for some additional detailing.

I have also heard good things and about Excalibur and John Legacy.

Optional Packs

Yuushya Foliage Addon —  Adds depth and dimension to the otherwise flat leaf blocks of trees, bushes, decor, etc.

Battered Old Stuff —  Gives a lot of blocks a weathered, battered look. Usage will vary depending on which 'main' pack you use.

Grimdark Armor + Grimdark Tools —  Changes tools, weapons, armor, and more to fit the traditional dark fantasy aesthetic.

3D Wood Fire Furnace + 3D Blast Furnace + 3D Sweet Berries —  Creates three-dimensional models with more detail for these items.

Xali's Potions —  Better potion models.

YOU DIED —  FromSoft death screen.

Glimpse into the Wyrd ...

A gallery of my personal screenshots utilizing thee above mods (specifically, Bliss Shaders + Conquest). Forever WIP, always adding.
