PEACE IN HEFRUMM AND THE REMOVAL OF LORD JUSTICIAR

 

Zahir Irongrinder has served the Grand Kingdom of Urguan well through his years, and was rewarded the opportunity to explain his case against Dralvon and Velkon to the iron assembly. Fair points were ushered, however, the Lord Justiciar explained that he seeked to entrap the leaders of Hefrumm into committing treason by writing a purposely inciteful missive of trial. The Grand King has thus decreed that these tactics are unacceptable and have resulted in division being purposely sowed into our great realm. Let it be known that it has been confirmed by the Iron assembly and all witnesses that the missive of trial by the Lord Justiciar was written by the Lord Justiciar without consulting the King or his council before releasing it. 

 

It has thus been determined by the iron assembly that the allegations of Grand King Ulfar Starbreaker purposely trying to eliminate Hefrumm are false, as determined by witnesses and the fact that the Grand King’s signature was not present on the notice. This call to trial has therefore been fully rescinded by the Grand King in his wisdom, and it is with a heavy heart that we announce the REMOVAL of Lord Justiciar Zahir Irongrinder from his post due to these actions. Any attempts to stoke rebellion will not be tolerated.

 

Full pardons are to be offered to Dralvon, Velkon and Thedmar Mossborn if they abide by the decree below, cease the purchase of foreign mercenaries, and allow the Grand Kingdom of Urguan to negotiate with the Halfling refugees instead of themselves, as granting land to foreign peoples is Urguan responsibility, not Hefrumm’s.

 

BANISHMENT OF ALARIC GRIMGOLD

 

The disruption of peace and stability within Urguan is indeed unacceptable, and this individual has been offered many chances to live within Urguan peacefully under the Grand King Ulfar Starbreaker. It has been made clear to the Iron assembly that Alaric Grimgold immediately used Zahir’s folly to direct attention to the Grand King and ‘DEMAND’ his abdication. Whipping the people of Hefrumm into a frenzy and very nearly leading the Grand Kingdom of Urguan into a path of civil war.

 

 He has gone beyond merely critiquing the King, writing that our Grand King possesses ‘heretical beliefs,’ and needs to be overthrown. Many times this individual has been offered mercy, but such an inflammatory and rebellious individual cannot reside in Urguan any longer. 

 

Thus, the Grand King and his council has decreed that Alaric Grimgold, now declared Alaric Wormtongue, is BANISHED from all dwarven realms as well as the Grand Kingdom of Urguan and its vassals. If he is caught within any of dwarven lands, or mountains, all citizens of the realm and legionnaire’s are commanded to EXECUTE him on sight.

 

Allies of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan may be requested to adopt the same verdict and refuse entry to Alaric Wormtongue.

 

WARNING: Any individual, part of Urguan and its vassals or dwarf, who helps or protects this traitor from punishment will be punished as well.

Margaid'Dorn scanned the missive. "peace... in... our... time... worm... tounge?.. eats... apples?"

"As good an outcome as kin be expected, ah suppose." Briga muttered upon reading the missive.

 

The actions of Zahir were surprising to read, and in her opinion simply removing him from his position was too light a punishment. She felt as though the gravity of what Zahir had done had been largely glossed over.

 

Less surprising was the banishment of Alaric - She was honestly surprised it had taken this long to happen, given how public the discourse between him and Ulfar had been in the past... She fully anticipated another missive from Alaric would be sent out soon.

"I knew they would choose peace... Thank goodness."

She hugs the missive to her chest, knowing her Halfling friends and most importantly THE GIANT SNAIL will be left alone.

she mutters to herself in gleeful conclusion, folding up the news and storing it in her pack.

Blackheart reads the missive on the burned ground, his risen feasting on a dwarfs corpse.

 

"Hah, now they openly advocate Kinslaying."

 

He leaves the paper on the bloodied ground, marching forward the blessed path.
