THE NÚMENOST AUTUMNTIDE FESTIVAL

   In celebration of a successful harvest and another year of life, the fair city of Númenost shall host a grand BARROWEEN festival for all to enjoy, complete with a market, entertainment, and various contests and activities ranging from the season-favorite, apple bobbing, to a competition of culinary skill. Additionally, to build bridges between the kindreds of Númenedain and Salamdeul, we shall together host several festive activities from distant Won!

 

Festival Market

   The festival market will run for the duration of the fair. Temporary stalls will be set up around the White City’s North Plaza, and outside the main gate, for any who wish to peddle goods during the event. Stalls shall be reserved on a first-come first-served basis. To reserve a stall, please contact us (Yun Nabi) by letter ahead of time. Among the other activities of the affair shall be common festival games, entertainment from local artists, and other such delights.

 

The Burning of the Thousand-Headed Snake

   The opening of our festival shall be a tradition brought to Aevos by the newly-arrived men of Won; the Burning of the Thousand-Headed Snake. A ceremony meant to ward off foul omens from the land for the coming winter and the growing year after, this festivity consists of symbolic offerings made to the Creator and to one's ancestors and the burning-in-effigy of the Archdevil and his servants. Effigies planned for this year’s festival include:

The Ishikawan Shogun

The Spirit of the Impling Menace

The Contemptible Elven Minister

The Wailing Widow-Witch

The Mithril Chef™ Cooking Contest

   Do you fancy yourself the finest chef in the realm? If so, this may very well be your opportunity to demonstrate your prowess. Overseen by a table of three judges, this contest shall see participants’ work tested and judged on the merits of taste and presentation. The rules are thus:

 

I. The entry must contain at least one in-season ingredient. (Apples, pumpkin, etc.)

II. The participants must prepare the entry themselves.

 

Once judging is completed, a winner shall be determined, along with two runners-up. First place shall receive a prize of 100 Minas and the title of The Mithril Chef, and second and third shall receive a consolation prize of 25 Minas.

 

Boxing Tournament

   What better way to fight off the chill in the air than a good round in the ring? Following the cooking contest, join us for a contest of fighting prowess ((fist PvP)) to prove who has the mightiest punch in the realm. The winner will receive a prize of 100 Minas!

 

Costume Contest

   In the tradition of the season, all attendees are encouraged to come in costume! Whether you choose to don a frightful disguise or a more whimsical ensemble, all are welcome to participate in the costume contest which shall serve as the festival's formal conclusion (though activities will continue until the night falls quiet). Two winners will be selected, one by a panel of judges, and a second by the people's choice. Both winners will receive 150 Minas. 

Please note, actual monsters, undead, Li-Ren, and Dokkaebi are barred from participating.

Al'Ildic Harvest Festival

   Join the House O’Rourke in Al’Ildic for their own Harvest Festival, complete with activities, a dance, and – if rumors are to be believed – a mystery of murder most foul to be solved by cunning festival-goers. The first party to solve the mystery will find themselves a hefty prize of 100 Minas each, with further prizes available to keen-eyed and thorough investigators!
