LO TO YOU. Even as the rivers and lake ice over, they remain stocked with fish and life bustling just beneath the hardened surface. Thus, along with a plethora of other games the ice will at long last be broken and the river’s spoils hunted. 

 

Days ago I was visited by a trio of travelers, hungry and in need of shelter. Nomadic peoples calling no particular place home, I was inspired by them. They lived, presumably, off the land and the good fortune of those they encountered on their journeys. I deem it fit to offer them, those people without homes, the fish caught in the competition as well as a place in the festivities.

WRESTLING & LOG THROWING

Inspired by the tough men of Northern history, I think it is a fine idea to put the people of Hanseti-Ruska to a test of might. By putting them against one another in tournament-style wrestling matches, and appraising the strength of the Haeseni by way of log throwing, we will determine the ‘MIGHTIEST OF MORTESKVAN’. Only he who prevails in both competitions may claim the title for the mightiest will come second to none, and will be awarded with TWO HUNDRED MINAE!

 

ICE FISHING

To keep our bellies full for the evening, all prospective fishermen will gather at the River Lahy, which I’ve had carved by local icemen. There, they shall cast their lines into the hole, and fish for PRECISELY FIVE SAINT’S MINUTES, where the fish will be roasted and offered to those in need.

 

ICE CARVING

So that naught will go to waste, the ice carved from the lake will be repurposed so that those who are less martially inclined needn’t grow bored during the displays of might from earlier in the evening. I would like to share one of my favorite winter-time pastimes, ice carving! Guests are invited to carve the ice chunks to depict an image of their choice. These carvings will then be displayed around the castle and in the city of New Valdev.
