IN TIME MARKED BY THE WANDERING OF STARS, I have grown within the walls of New Valdev, watching the city blossom and thrive with each passing year. From my earliest memories, this kingdom's people and the land have felt like home, an extension of my identity. Through times of prosperity and struggle, I have stood alongside my fellow citizens, witnessing the unwavering spirit of Haense time and time again. Here, in the heart of this vibrant city, I have learned to cherish our heritage and dream of a future where the spirit of community burns brightly as ever. 

 

Throughout my years of experience as a tavern maid, I have gained invaluable insights into the complexities of managing and leading a bustling tavern—an essential aspect of the Grand Maer’s responsibilities. My role has sharpened my organizational skills and provided me with a deep understanding of the daily challenges in such an environment.

 

Moreover, this position has allowed me to forge genuine connections with local patrons, giving me insight into the various concerns and struggles faced by the residents of Nau Valdev. Spending time at the heart of our community has given me a unique perspective on the vital issues affecting our citizens. I take pride in my ability to effectively represent the people of our great city, as my experiences in the tavern have equipped me with firsthand knowledge that distinguishes me from other candidates. I am truly immersed in the lives of my fellow citizens, which empowers me to advocate for their needs and champion their voices in a way that resonates deeply with their everyday experiences. 

 

Therefore, I, Acelia Irena Colborn, announce my intention to run for Grand Maer of New Valdev.

 

 

CAMPAIGN PROMISES

 

★ TAVERN INITIATIVES

 

Given the pivotal role the Royal Tavern plays in the Grand Maer’s responsibilities, I plan to reintroduce a variety of lively events at the Tipsy Tachar. These events will include grand performances featuring musicians, theatrical plays, and storytelling, all designed to foster a strong sense of community engagement. I envision these evenings as vibrant gatherings where local artists can freely showcase their talents, creating a platform for creativity without any fees or barriers to participation.

 

In addition to these engaging events, I will also curate a series of exhibitions on the upper floor of the tavern often unused. These exhibitions will focus on diverse themes, highlighting the work of local artisans, craftsmen, and artists. By providing a space for these unique displays, I aim to ensure that everyone in Haense has the opportunity to experience and appreciate art and culture that might otherwise remain out of reach for many residents. Ultimately, my goal is to transform the Tipsy Tachar into a hub of artistic expression and community connection, where people can gather, celebrate creativity, and strengthen our shared bonds.

 

★ MERCHANT & BARDS GUILDS

 

To begin with, I propose establishing a well-structured Merchants Guild aimed at creating a thriving community where merchants can interact, collaborate, and forge valuable connections. Membership in this guild will be mandatory for anyone operating a shop within the realm of Haense. This requirement will ensure adherence to fair trade practices and foster sustainable economic growth. The Merchants Guild will serve as a vital resource hub for its members, offering guidance on best practices, access to exclusive market information, and opportunities for cooperative buying. Additionally, the guild will provide essential protections against unfair competition and exploitation, while organizing events specifically designed to enable merchants to network, share experiences, and exchange ideas.

 

Alongside the Merchants Guild, I propose the formation of a Bards Guild—a dedicated space for Haense’s performers, storytellers, and bards to flourish. This guild will create a platform for individuals to showcase their talents by offering a variety of performance opportunities throughout the realm. It will work closely with the Court Musician to organize events, workshops, and performances that celebrate the arts. The Bard Guild will not only elevate Haense’s cultural landscape but also foster a sense of community among artists who can share their craft, techniques, and stories.

 

The ultimate goal is to encourage collaboration between the Merchants and Bard Guilds, organizing joint events that unite their two realms. Picture an artisan market bustling with vendors showcasing their finest goods, accompanied by live music or captivating storytelling sessions drawing in crowds. These collaborative events will allow both merchants and bards to thrive, creating vibrant and unforgettable experiences that resonate within the community, stimulate local commerce, and enrich the cultural tapestry of Haense. By blending creativity with enterprise, we can cultivate a dynamic atmosphere that celebrates both trade and the arts.

 

★ PUBLIC FORUMS

 

I intend to reintroduce the annual public forums that were overlooked by the previous Grand Maer, to be held within the Tavern. These forums will be open to all citizens of Haense, providing a platform for individuals to voice their concerns, ideas, and proposals. Our goal is to ensure that every citizen's voice is acknowledged and considered. Additionally, we will invite nobles, city officials, and guild leaders to engage directly with the community, thereby bridging the gap between governance and the populace. This initiative will create a dedicated space for citizens to express their thoughts and concerns freely, fostering a better dialogue with their representatives.

 

★ NOTICE BOARDS

 

Unfortunately, the notice boards in Haense have fallen into a state of disrepair and neglect, resulting in a considerable lack of up-to-date information for our citizens. We must address this issue promptly to enhance communication within our community. I propose that we undertake a comprehensive initiative to either revitalize the existing notice boards or install new ones in strategic locations throughout the city.

 

These notice boards should be not only visually appealing and well-maintained but also organized to prioritise accessibility and usability. One important addition I suggest is a dedicated section for tasks, volunteer opportunities, and collaborative projects. This would create an effective space for sharing notices and fostering collaboration within our community.
 

★ A UNIFIED HAENSE

 

As Grand Maer, I will work tirelessly to unify all aspects of Haense’s rich culture, whether through the tavern, guilds, public forums, notice boards, or by fulfilling the Grand Maer's duties of organizing festivities within the crownlands and the capital and liaising with the royal court. My ultimate promise is to create a Haense that fosters a sense of community among its citizens, where every Haeseni feels heard, valued, and connected. Together, we will forge a future where all can thrive in the warmth of our shared heritage and united spirit.

 

Together, we rise like the constellations, shining brighter as one.

The specter of Marus smiled as he passed the missive - a small inkling of pride in that once little girl. How she had grown to be her own. Truly, there was little more he could ask than to see her do well. And, then, he slunk off into the shade and vanished with the wind.
