Family Traditions/Rights:

The Marking: At the beginning of life, a child is born wailing and conjoined with her mother. However with the Munnel children, after being united with the mother, a ritual is done afterward, branding the child with the Mark of Pil’ri or Kaira, the lesser twin spirits of Guidance. This marking is unique as it's not a tattoo but a branding upon the Munnel child.

Adoption: A time honoured tradition in the Talonnii. All Talonnii members bear the right to adopt, however the adoptive child may only bear the Mah’nel name if granted to them by the Progenitor or Patriarch/Matriarch and only often having received their mark. Once receiving their mark, they are considered a part of the Talonnii and mainline.

Heirship: Any Talonnii member of the Bloodline and spawn of Jarad Mah’nel may challenge for the right of Heirship. They must carry his blood in them in order to make this challenge.

Courting/Marrige: Mah’nel are an ancient ‘asul line, stemming back into time of their existence- they themselves had standards to follow amongst their own. Then following traditions are the basis for courting and marrige.

Definitions:

Two: the individual couple in question.

  • Courting may begin naturally at any point decided upon by the two.
  • Pre marital Hand holding is allowed.
  • When courting the two may not conceive children nor adopt.
  • When courting neither may share a room or a house unless both Talonnii have agreed so.
  • When courting, if a child is adopted or conceived before marriage, they will be considered not within the line and therefore will not be allowed to gain the mark or be considered blooded.
  • When proposed, the two must convene their Talonnii to meet. If one doesn’t have a talonnii then they can convene with the proposed or existing Talonnii
  • Upon the ceremony, if the groom or bride is left at the altar, the individual in question is to be hunted down and punished, if it’s not one of the Mah’nel, then the individual in question is to be hunted down and killed by exile.

Traditions:

Hunters Marriage:

The Mah’nels are proud hunters, whether it’s a large beast or a descendant that requires to be found. They intend to track and path find their way to their target. As such in ancient times of the family, the hunters ceremony is often done with the intent of promising the groom or bride that their needs will be met and their life will be tended to amongst the pack.

The wedding tradition takes three full OOC days, each day is a different event.

First day: The proposing Groom or Bride in question  picks out a beast or Animal for the Groom or Bride to hunt. As so they will go forth and Hunt it down on their own. They may take a hound or horse as their only ally.

Second: The Groom and Bride in question must Meet with the High speaker, priest of the shaman temple within the ‘asul lands, and sacrifice the remains and allow the High speaker or Shaman to make the Goblet of red. This is followed by a prayer.

Third Day: The wedding ceremony is conducted by a spiritualist, as so the wine is served into the family relic Goblets. As so the blood of the hunt and the hunter is mixed within it before drinking, binding the Groom or bride to the significant other. As such marrying them both in eternal harmony.

The Artisan Marrige:

Mah’nels during the times of Sol’tarmatha the ancient Sun elves delved into industrialization. While minor, they advanced their way of life, attempting to reach the current times they delved into clockwork and astronomy. It was then that arts and crafts flourished and became a mainstream tradition. The Mah’nel were both Masons and Jewelers that sculpted and fixed pieces of magnificent quality. However due to their involvement in Celia’nor and other High elven lands, their spiritual and religious practices molded towards talyniism as such the traditions changed from their old ways.

The Artisan marrige spans about three OOC days.

First day: The Groom and bride are presented under the guise of a Vicar or The Arch-prelate they are presented to the creator in prayer. The proposing Groom or Bride then present themselves to the proposed family, mentioning they will create a magnificent piece for the proposed to show their willingness in the marrige.

Second day: The proposing Groom or Bride brings forth the piece and then is given and they take a task from the Vicar or Arch-prelate that will put the proposing to the test.

Third day: With the task completed the two are presented under the holy light, and are made into one for eternal harmony.
