VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK,

Therin I, lost in the Crypt, was rescued by the Brotherhood of Saint Karl and the Marian Retinue, on the 10th of Joma and Umund, 556 ES.

Under a glistening sunrise, the Lord Marshal Magnus Raugrdag led the Brotherhood and the Retinue into the damp crypts arisen from beneath the earth. He had received word of treasure laying once more in an area deep within the crypt.

Upon arrival, nothing of danger was seen. It took some time crawling and running through the crypt before the group arrived in a round, open room. King Therin I of Petra was captive there, held on a railing high above the room. The goal changed, then, to one of rescue. Squires clamored to find a safe way to bring the King to safety, and all backs were turned to the entrance.

The place they had entered, however, was a trap.

As soon as the King was seen, dozens of armored ghouls rushed behind the search party, bringing everyone into a dizzying fray. Through hundreds of sword-swings, the forces of Haense proved valiant, slaying each ghoul without a single one of them befalling much harm.

Still, that was only the beginning.

Faster ghouls, armed with bows of rancid design, rushed into the room to send volley after volley into the trapped rescuers. While they were dispatched even faster than the first group, injuries were sustained, requiring medical attention that slowed the group down.

Then, of course, it got worse.

Magi, probably necromancers lost to the world, began to assist many ghouls in the assault. Between ghastly sights, undead hordes, and the ground itself being lifted to strike, the soldiers needed to make use of all the bravery in their hearts to weather that storm. Yet again, Haense proved powerful enough to reach victory. Still, though, battle proved too distracting to bring the King to safety. Soldiers began to fall and be overrun in the chaos, but all were lifted back up, still alive and ready to fight.

With no end in sight, the Brotherhood of Saint Karl and the Marian Retinue slayed row after row of risen forces. A pentalogy of huge beasts raged through the arena, to be cut down by the soldiers. Finally, the evil was wearing thin.

But so was the good.

All of the remaining force crowded the room at once. Two huge golems of magical origin, more magi, and several ghostly forces swarmed the remaining soldiers. For each golem that was felled, a soldier of Haense, too, was lost. Broken and battered, but with resolve unwavering, the Haeseni cleared out all its foes. Finally, there were no more enemies to come. The King was brought down and led out of the crypt, saved at last.

Therin of the Petra wasn't sure how he ended up in the dungeon, but he was glad to have made it out. All thanks to the commendable efforts of the BSK And Marian Retinue. "I sure owe them big time," he mused upon returning to Vallagne. "I should buy them a round of drinks next time I visit."
