INTRODUCTION

House de Rosius, founded by Philip de Rosius-Rourke, the progenitor of the House de Rosius, as a cadet of its parent house of O’Rourke in the beginning of the nineteenth century. Originally commoners who operated as merchants, whose descendants were later positioned in politics and enriched their popularity of the family. Due to their loyalty and service to the Holy Orenian Empire, they were elevated to nobility. However, in the aftermath of the Brothers’ War, the House was split in two, the senior branch of the Kingdom of Oren retaining the Barony of Rosius and the junior branch receiving the Barony of Valens in the Kingdom of Balian.

Philip de Rosius-O’Rourke and Maria Darkwood in their later years

It wasn't a wedding of grandiose, but a privately kept ceremony between the small houses of Darkwood and O'Rourke. Afterward, the couple was left on their own with little help from their families, it was what sparked the merchant spirit of the duo. Swiftly kicking off their business as traders, going from one end of the continent to the other. A few months passed when Maria had already been pregnant, being the first of her many pregnancies which were just to come. In approximately fifteen years, the pair had a bustling household of ten children.

A year after the birth of the last children, the twins - Anne Cassia and Elizavetta Joanne, the parents had gone on their usual trading journey from which they never came back, thus they were presumed dead. Valent Philip, their second-born son, grieved for a while before realizing that his tears won't help the situation, so the boy asked his paternal relatives for help. His plea was answered with kindness and mercy, as the children were taken under the care of the O'Rourkes.

II. POLITICS IN THE HOLY ORENIAN EMPIRE

As Arcas went into ruins and the populace of Helena had to evacuate, the Rosius stuck together with the O'Rourkes and moved to Providence. It was few years more, before Valent Philip had ensured himself a job in the Ministry of Justice and later ran for Alderman unsuccessfully. The teenage man managed to purchase an apartment for himself and his siblings, becoming their guardian. Whilst Aboul Jean enlisted in the ISA, but not for long as he disappeared on patrol. The third-born son, Otis Maximilian had found friends in the Josephite Party, leading to his first career in politics as Alderman. Not long after, his older brother followed.

The Imperial Diet with Valent Philip de Rosius as its president

The Rosius at the time became quite the political influence within the Holy Orenian Empire, a few years later, Valent Philip became the President of the House of Commons within the Imperial Diet. Valent Philip was an example a lot of the Rosius took as a sign to always follow your ambition, whatsoever the cost.

III. THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS

The Brothers of House de Rosius gathering for a political discussion

With many siblings, different directions were inevitable. As one Rosius, Aboul Jean, joined the Imperial State Army, Julius Cesare followed his older brothers into politics, although mainly local politics, becoming an Alderman, as did their younger sisters. These timelines of great ambition however, soon came to a timeline of grief; for the eldest, Valent Philip came to pass not long after his health began to deteriorate and was buried at the Cathedral of Providence, with his family in attendance.

It was not soon after the death of Valent, that Julius, as saddened as he was by the death of his older brother, who was a true example for him, that Julius committed suicide in the square of Providence, he was not buried but was instead burned to ashes. Otis, having lost two brothers in a year now, not giving into grievance but continued to pursue the way forward for the betterment of House de Rosius, was soon knighted as a Knight of the Order of Merit, the first step taken towards nobility within the Holy Orenian Empire.

Not soon after, the House de Rosius finally reached their goal; nobility. As they were given the letters patent, they were officially acknowledged as noble by Orenian society. The family moved to Redenford, where they established their Chateau. With Redenford being somewhat abandoned, it was then when the now Lord Otis was made Proprietor of Redenford and was responsible for its renovation.

IV. REDENFORD

With the House de Rosius settled in Redenford, and the base of their family, under leadership of Baron Otis, it underwent a renovation. With help from his own children, his nephews and nieces, remaining brothers and sisters. It was a family initiative to make Redenford a home to all.

The nephew of Otis, Philip Hughes de Rosius, a grandson of Valent Philip; who served in the Imperial State Army, had proposed to Elaine Victoria d’Arkent, one of the first noble unions of the family. The engagement was celebrated greatly within the Chateau de Rosius and was the start of a new generation for the family.

However, four years later, the wife of Philip was subject to an assassination. While she was with child, a barrel full of canon fodder was placed under the carriage and exploded right in front of the Chateau to celebrate the fourth pregnancy of Elaine. She died at the age of twenty-six alongside the fourthborn of Philip and Elaine. That day was devastating for Philip, and so he raised his three children; Lucius, Genevieve, and Sebastien on his own.

The assassination of Lady Elaine Victoria d’Arkent

A few years later, Philip remarried with Helena Eleanor de Sarkozy, daughter of Tobias Henry de Sarkozy and granddaughter of the Prince of Sutica, Franz Nikolai, Earl of Suffolk. They had a fruitful marriage and had three children; Franz Henry de Sarkozy, Andrik Valentin de Sarkozy and Octavia Eleanor de Sarkozy. Philip did not want his children with Helena to carry the name of Rosius, for he wanted the children of his first marriage to be in line of succession, and not the children of his second marriage.

The daughter of Otis, became renowned for her interest in magery, as heir apparent to the House and to the Barony, she was taught etiquette and the behavior of a true noble lady in her teenage years. It was however not soon that her mother, Claude de Frand would pass away, who suspiciously died quite close to her then husband. This caused Hera to flee and distance herself as much as possible from her father; causing Otis to strip her titles.

It was during such circumstances that Philip Hughes decided to join the Supreme Order of Ex. Owyn, taking vows to defend the laity and clergy. It was a surprise for Philip however that his cousin, Hera, was also interested, and so she squired under him and became known as Hera Claude de Rosius Esquire. Not soon after the Order had been dissolved, Philip became a clergymen, beginning as a humble priest, to bishop, to archbishop and he even reached the point of Cardinal of Providentia, a station held by his grandfather Casper Jahan Baelius.

As the children of Rosius grew old, so too did Otis pass away, the first noble of House de Rosius and it’s first Knight. Otis was sixty-six years old and was buried in the Rosius mausoleum underneath Chateau de Rosius.

V. THE INFIGHTING

It was not soon after the death of Otis that there would be infighting amongst the House of Rosius. The House had split in two as the then Emperor and Empress of Oren passed away or went missing; with thinking that the Crown Prince, Prince Peter would reign as Emperor, he was instead slain by his own brother, King Frederick I of Oren after Emperor Philip III and Empress Anastasia I had declared Prince Frederick as their heir in their will. A part of House de Rosius sided with Prince Peter, and then on the other side there was King Frederick I, the son of Emperor Philip III and Empress Anastasia I, it was the Rosius members under Hera who sided with him.

Little was only known that Hera had two sons by Joseph Clement Sarkozic, Baron of Pompourelia who was in fact married to Catherine, the Princess Imperial. The sons of Hera, Louis Joseph and Emir accompanied and supported their mother against those who wanted to take the titles and overthrow Hera as Head of House de Rosius.

Hera chose her eldest, the then teenager Louis Joseph to negotiate with the other side of the House to stop the infighting, and they capitulated and acknowledged Hera as the matriarch of House de Rosius. It was however with the promise of the House of Rosius in Balian being able to maintain independence and choose their own local head of the household; as cunning and manipulative as Louis Joseph was, he gave them a promise, however; a false one. With the right momentum, Louis made sure that his family on the other side were forced to take another name and to exclude them from ever joining the House of Rosius ever again. He marched out with a band of Rose Guards and took back all the artifacts that belonged to the rightful matriarch.

While being raised in the County of Mardon, the County that first belonged to King Frederick I, with the fall of the Kingdom during the Acre Rebellion, and the establishment of the Harvest Confederacy, Hera passed away. Leaving her two sons alone in lands filled with turmoil.

VI. RESETTLING IN THE HEARTLANDS

Louis I Joseph, 1st Marquis of High Peak, 1st Count of Beaufoy, 3rd Baron of Rosius, 1st Lord of Mont Louis,1st Lord Commander of the Rose Guard, 1st Protector of Arentania, 5th Head of House de Rosius

However, as the Harvest Confederacy dissolved, there was an ambitious man, Prince Charles Leopold Alstion, Lord of Alba who wanted to create a Kingdom, and so he, the prince, succeeded. With Louis Joseph seeing a future in the Heartlands, he made a return to his native homeland. He engaged in various talks of returning to the Heartlands and promising the Prince to bring as many lost Heartlander nobility back to the Heartlands; a promise he kept. It was then when Louis Joseph, the then Baron of Rosius, was elevated to Margrave (Auvergnian: Marquis), establishing a great fortress upon the Arentanian mountains and naming it after himself to leave a legacy; Mont Louis. Louis was known to be manipulative and cunning at times when threats against his family were made, according to various sources of the Rosius librarians, a man who would lie in the face of someone and be the cause of something hazardous against someone else just to make sure that his family is safe.

It was there where he married his cousin, Philippa Adelaide de Rosius, who died at the birth of their thirdborn. They had three children; Louis August, Adrien Clement and Joseph Antonius. With the death of his wife, he soon remarried to Lucrece Ysabeau, Marchioness-Consort of High Peak, another cousin of Louis; the two had three children; Otis Philip, Charlotte Ulyssa and Lucia Augusta.

As Louis Joseph was thirty years old, he began to develop an interest for philosophy; he developed a political ideology named in honor of his House; called Rosianism which promotes the ideals his family stood for. He often accompanied the then crowned King of Aaun, Charles I during meetings and became one of the very few Rosius in history to ever train soldiers to defend a Kingdom.

With his children getting older, and himself too, he decided to voluntarily lock himself in the chambers of the catacombs of High Peak, deciding to live in constant meditation for wisdom and write everything down. It was there where he passed at the age of fourty-six, leaving his son Louis August to inherit as Louis II.

LOUIS II AUGUST

Louis II August de Rosius, 2nd Marquis of High Peak, 2nd Count of Beaufoy and Arentaniebourg, 4th Baron of Rosius, 2nd Lord of Mont Louis, 2nd Lord Commander of the Rose Guard, 2nd Protector of Arentania, 6th Head of House de Rosius

Louis II August de Rosius, born to Louis I, Margrave of Haute-Epine and Philippa Adelaide de Rosius. Upon his birth, he was the first in line to inherit the Margraviate of Haute-Epine and the House of Rosius. He was named after his father, Louis Joseph to begin a dynasty and succession named after himself. Louis August spent most of his time with his mother while his father was to help King Charles I in affairs regarding the Kingdom of Aaun.

Louis August was born on the 14th of Sigismund's End, within the today's lands of the Marquisat of High Peak. From the early days of his life, the affection he had had from his parents was enough for him to realise that they were his only true friends in life, and that the outer world is not to be trusted easily. His relationship with his mother was uncommonly affectionate for the time, as contemporaries and eyewitnesses claimed that his mother would spend all her time with Louis, while his father Louis Joseph was on his political meetings with the then Prince Charles, which would later shape the Arentanian Alps and formalise the Marquisate of Haute-Epine. Both were greatly interested in art and hunting, and Louis likely developed these interests through his close relationship with his mother.

Being separated from his father from an early age did not affect Louis emotionally. Their separation taught him that even though his parents are his most loyal friends, they will not be with him forever and that he should prepare himself for upcoming obligations and problems. And so it was, when at the age of fourteen he first took the leadership of the family and the titles he inherited from his father, who fell fatally ill just before his fifteenth birthday.

Being a nobleman among many other, much more popular and socially affluent nobles was a task for itself. Louis had difficulty finding his way in politics, with the then situation in Aaun, in the kingdom that started to rise from the ruins of the once grandiose kingdom of Oren, contributing to additional uncertainty. Without an established government, law and army, it was difficult just to start, let alone initiate larger projects. However, all the nobles joined forces and efforts to rise from the ruins to a reformed kingdom, today known as the United Kingdom of Aaun. They succeeded in that, and throughout that story, Louis managed to strengthen himself and channel his efforts into successfully leading a political and family life.

The Marriage of Louis II, Marquis of High Peak and Lady Marguerite Adela de Lewes, receiving the blessing of the High Pontiff.

In 1907, on the 17th of Tobias' Bounty, Louis II married Lady Marguerite Adela de Lewes, with the ceremony for which the two received the blessing of the High Pontiff took place inside the Basilica of Saint Alexander of Furnestock in New Vienne.

Louis and Marguerite had three children; Louis Olivier Etienne, Adela Olympe and Melina Dieuxmont de Rosius. Louis Olivier became the heir apparent to the Marquisat, Adela went to marry the Crown Prince of Aaun, The Prince Henry of Alba. And Melina married a Petran Prince, the Duke of Valfleur, Paul Alexander.

Louis August passed away at the age of fifty-seven, and is also buried in the catacombs of High Peak alongside his ancestors.

Louis III, 3rd Marquis of High Peak, 3rd Count of Beaufoy and Arentaniebourg, 5th Baron of Rosius, 3rd Lord of Mont Louis, 3rd Lord Commander of the Rose Guard, 3rd Protector of Arentania, 7th Head of House de Rosius

Louis Olivier was born to Louis II, Marquis of High Peak and Marguerite of Lewes, Marchioness-Consort. He was born and raised in High Peak and was taught diplomacy and politics, a traditional Rosius upbringing. Louis was quite smart when he was younger and developed a taste for politics, though, as according to the mother of Albert, Louis Olivier was quite mysterious has he made frequent but not too often appearances in public. It was therefore the presumption that the mentality of Louis I, who was almost like a recluse, had been passed down.

We know very little of the life of Louis Olivier, though we do know that he was able to father two daughters with Isabella Varoche, the daughters were the first of Rosius to have royal blood from a reigning House, the House of Alstion through their grandmother, the Princess Anna Lucilla. The firstborn was Olive-Victoire Dieuxmont de Rosius, the secondborn was Olympe Regina Dieuxmont de Rosius, of which the latter was to inherit the titles and the House.

His age and date of death are unknown to history.

Olympe I, 4th Marchioness of High Peak, 4th Countess of Beaufoy, Arentaniebourgh, 2nd Countess of l’Arbre d’Or and Pacida, 6th Baroness of Rosius, 4th Lady of Mont Louis, 4th  Lady Commander of the Rose Guard, 4th Protector of Arentania, 8th Head of House de Rosius

Olympe Regina Marguerite Sophie Diexumont de Rosius was the 4th Marchioness of Haute-Epine, commonly known as High Peak, as the successor to Louis III, Margrave of High Peak. At the age of eleven upon inherited, the young peer, after living aboard her grandmother's ship, the Ashford, became the ward of the Queen of Aaun, Amelya of Middelan. As Marchioness of Haute-Epine, Olympe and her husband oversaw the construction of Louisanne, the capital of the March and seat of the Auvergne Council.

Olympe was married to Prince Nicodemus of Rudria. The two had six children: Louis-Caspian, Lord of Rosius, Isabeau-Karine, Albert-Goulielmos, Raoul, Desiree-Praxede and Raphael-Simon.

Olympe met a tragic end, as she died of a result of diabetes according to the coroner, not a few moments later, her husband was found in the halls of High Peak, hanging from a roof with a toppled chair underneath him, the cause of death was suicide. Leaving six children without parents, responsible for their own upbringing.

Louis IV, 7th Baron of Rosius, 5th Lord of Mont Louis, 5th Lord Commander of the Rose Guard, 9th Head of House de Rosius, Lord Chancellor of the Heartland Confederation

Louis IV Caspian de Rosius, born to Prince Nicodemus Jahan of Rudria and Olympe I, Marchioness of High Peak. Following the death of his mother, the then Baroness of Rosius, Louis-Caspian would inherit the Barony of Rosius at the age of 12, a few titles lower than Rosius' initial noble rank due to the slight fall of the house.

Louis-Caspian Dieuxmont de Rosius was born on the 14th of Sigismund's End in 1966, to Olympe-Regina Dieuxmont de Rosius and Nicodemus Jahan Basrid. Like most noble children, Louis-Caspian was hailed as the next great ruler of Rosius upon his birth. He was surrounded by extremely learned people, who, in addition to his mother and father, taught him the things that are required of one noble heir. Not long after he entered his first decade of life, Louis began to feel the signs of obligation on his skin, which forced him to replace everyday entertainment with occasional lessons about politics, the military and responsibility, of course, all with the help of his father and family friend Archibald.

Louis' mother, Olympe-Regina, was overwhelmed with her responsibilities as a noblewoman, as well as a secret cancer she had been enduring, and not long after Louis's tenth birthday, terrible news arrived within Louisanne's walls. Knowing that she could not cope with the pressure and many obligations, the Marchioness of High Peak was forced to accept the demotion of their title, from the Margraviate of High Peak to the Barony of Rosius. Even though she was forced in a way, she understood that this was necessary and that it was the only right thing to do, in order to preserve the reputation of Rosius, and not seek conflict with the Crown.

The situation was obviously difficult enough in itself, the stress was present where it shouldn't have been, which intrigued Louis even though he was just a boy. According to eyewitnesses of the time, Olympe-Regina prepared Louis in time for the inheritance of titles and land, so that probably there would not be any complications afterwards. The climax occurred when Louis' mother, Olympe-Regina, contracted a serious illness, from which she passed away on the 6th of Owyn's Flame, 1980.

To make matters more tragic, during one of the other noble families' visits to Louisanne, Louis' father, Nicodemus Jahan Basrid was found hanged on the 28th of Owyn's Flame, 1980 in the hall of the Rosius residence, not long after the death of Olympe-Regina. Witnessing two deaths, that of his parents, must have left a deep mark on Louis' heart, which could be seen long after the initial death of his parents.

Leaving the past at least a little aside, Louis-Caspian was warned and taken under the control of their family friend Archibald. Politics got involved in Louis's life ever since he was not even a baron, but after Archibald's vast amount of lectures, politics became one of the integral parts of the young baron's life. Since he was too young, his politics were limited to his room and Louisanne, however, as he got older he got the opportunity to meet certain people of experience and knowledge, including his lieges and relatives, King Charles II and Queen-Consort Hedwig of Aaun, and other members of the aforementioned field. Louis' life took a different course from the moment he received the title of Royal Cupbearer. He saw that there was a place for him in the political scene as well as the scene in general within the Heartlander Confederation, and things began to take shape even more shortly before he came of age.

The election for the new Lord Chancellor of the Heartlander Confederation was open and announced throughout the confederation, which once again intrigued and interested Louis-Caspian. Knowing that he certainly did not have enough experience for such an undertaking, he deepened his studies and got in contact with people who could teach him everything necessary, and if he was elected, help him lead the government for the first few months. The desire for politics was stronger than anything in front of him, which could be seen by the effort Louis-Caspian invested in his studies, contacts with noble houses and the organization of events almost every month alongside his sister Isabeau-Karine Dieuxmont de Rosius, bringing various people from various corners of the confederation to one place.

His attempt to be elected as a candidate from the Garmont Assembly did not go smoothly, where he was second in the number of votes. However, the Heartlander Council chose young Louis-Caspian as their candidate, and he was given the opportunity to go to the foremost event of the election - the election debate. Three candidates from three sides of the governing bodies presented their agendas, in the end letting the people decide in the only proper way who will be the new Lord Chancellor.

On the 8th of Tobias' Bounty, 1984, the people voted Louis-Caspian to become the new Lord Chancellor of the Heartlander Confederation, beating out the competition by a broad margin, so far becoming the youngest Lord Chancellor of the Heartlands.

Perhaps one of Isabeau's greatest regrets was letting her brother, the Lord of Rosius, take credit for her social prowess. He did not organize the events; it was Isabeau's skillful planning. Everyone in the Confederation knew the Rosius parties and gatherings were the gatherings of the year. Nonetheless, she found the history to be insightful.
