King_Kunuk 3022 Share Posted January 14, 2025 “The power of your strikes comes not from the strength of your body, but from the Conviction you have in your Asioth” — Osar, Red Mage ✦•····················•✦•····················•✦ Tav Mrith Yol - Battle with Fire. A form of martial arts and series of competitive battles designed in by Red Mage Osar. Its purpose was simple; hone the body and the mind with fights of fire and physical prowess to train the individual to become a warrior who hones their skill through the pursuit of Asiothic principles. Both this game and the different fighting styles alike, some could trace its origins and inspirations from the champion Nithrakor. ‡ In the Battle with Fire, two individuals capable of manipulating flame enter into a ring; in which they duel until First Burn, or they force an individual out of the arena. There are many different fighting styles of Tav Mrith Yol, each one having been carefully designed to both be used within these unique battle scenarios and be applied beyond them in a more practical manner. The core philosophy behind these different styles of fighting is focus, honing the mind and body to become a living embodiment of fire itself in fighting form. ✦•····················•✦•····················••····················•✦•····················•✦ • ✦ • Tav Mrith Yol battles traditionally take place within a ten meter radius ring; with the edges being lit with fire manipulated by spectating heralds who play both drums and flute to give spirit to the battle. To individuals enter the ring; be they mortal herald or dragonkin; and use their martial prows of hand to hand combat and flame manipulation. ‡ Heralds and Azdrazi fight in this manner until what is called ‘first burn’; that being when one's flesh would be seared by the flame either sent forth by their opponent or pushed into the ring of fire that makes up the arena. It should be noted that in cases where it is man versus dragon; a judge will determine if an attack caused by their foe would inflict ‘first burn’ upon the Nephlim due to their flame resistant nature. ‡ An additional restriction is placed upon Nephlim in particular; forbidding them from calling upon their Inner Flame to conjure forth fire, instead needing to rely on the mundane fire of the arena and the flames sent forth by their foes. All participants are disallowed from using their Draan in all manners save for the manipulation of fire. Additionally, weapons of any variety are disallowed from being used. ✦•····················•✦•····················••····················•✦•····················•✦ • ✦ • During its long development, several different fighting styles of Tor Mrith Yol had been created through years of study, practice, and rigorous training. Each one tailored to a specific method of combat; with its own strengths and weaknesses. Those who partake in Tor Mrith Yol generally aspire to master one of these five forms, or draw upon aspects of several as they train their body and mind; but long lived are the dragonkin, and even some of their servants; and over decades of practice and diligence can they come to master several, if not all of them. ‡ The Titan’s Claw Named after Azdromoth himself, the Way of the Titan’s Claw revolves around furocity and overwhelming power. Focusing on one's desire to bring RUIN, the Titan’s Claw delivers brutal strikes aimed at ending the fight as soon as it begins. To fight in such a manner is to fight like a dragon in primal power. Raw and refined to be brutal and devastating. ‡ The Dancing Goose Coined after the Golden Goose which tripped the Aengul of Order, the Dancing Goose is a polar opposite of the Titan’s Claw. Where that style relies on brute force, the Dancing Goose focuses on one's trust in FATE to see them through. Elegance movements weave the practitioner through the battle, akin to dancing as they twirl and spin to try and force their foes off balance before delivering the finishing strike. ‡ The Sage’s Insight Named after the First Sage Eraser sin Nathemas, the way of The Sage’s Insight relies upon one taking complete advantage of an opponent’s weak points. Mental and physical weaknesses are taken into account by practitioners, using their own inner CONVICTION, one must dedicate their mind to locating, then exploiting weak points within an opponent, taking full advantage of those brief moments to lay down their devastating blows. Only those most patient can truly master this way of fighting, for it requires a keen intuition and practiced repetitions to engage with it. ‡ The Dragon’s Breath The way of the Dragon’s Breath is an atypical fighting style among the other four. The Dragon’s Breath specifically focuses on the use of ranged techniques in order to fight opponents; restoring then to close quarters to deal the finishing blow, much like how dragons use their FIRE to burn a foe before ending them with claw and fang. To practice Dragon’s Breath is to focus one’s energy into weakening the foe from afar before finishing them off. ‡ The Comet’s Flight The most difficult of all the styles of master, Comet’s Flight was named after the Ishirem Nithrakor of Tor’Praeth. What makes this style so difficult is that a Herald or Azdrazi must have perfect control over their manipulation of fire; and use it not just as a weapon; but a living extension of themselves. Using the flames to expunge themselves into the air and take literal flight in the arena. In practical terms this style is near impossible to replicate outside of a normal Tav Mrith Yol arena; though there are the few Azdrazi and even Heralds who try to replicate these techniques with varying degrees of success. Thus, only those with the strongest of MINDS can truly come to understand the delicate and destructive power of this fighting style. ✦•····················•✦•····················••····················•✦•····················•✦ ✦ — Credits — Writing - Kunuk Formatting - Karim ✦ ———————————————— ✦
