THE GUILDS OF NEVAEHLEN

The Introduction of the Guilds of the Vale

Written in the 225th Year of the Second Age

Nevaehlen’s core values have since its founding been about family and community. Through the kind and gentle help from our fellow greenblades, Nevaehlen has remained tax-free for its entirety. It is through the foundation of support and teamwork, that Nevaehlen has thrived through this system.

The main way this system has been achieved is through the guilds. The Guilds not only have an important role in Nevaehlen's society, but also for its community. After the dissolving of the Father Circle, the culture of guilds slowly died out. It is time to revive this core aspect of Nevaehlen’s society, so that the community can thrive once more. 

Each guild have their own headquarters. The Tree-singers are naturally located at the tree-singers workshop. The Thorned Compasses will be located by the old farmfields that were recently restored by the aid of those that participated in the Nevaehli restoration project, with their own watermill house. The Verdant Whispers are located at the new clinic right next to the Iron-antlers bakery, who also have their tavern right next to the gates at the main square. Lastly, there is the Cedar Archives, conveniently located at the library.

If you find an interest for any of the following guilds, please write your name up on the missive or send  a letter to Liriana Sirame unless there is an established Guild Leader you may contact instead.

As of current, since the Guilds are being reviewed, we are also searching for fitting candidates to lead these guilds. If you are a passionate, and active member of the community, with an interest in leading a group and planning events, consider volunteering to become a guild leader!

The Tree-Singers

As a Tree Singer, you are both the craftsman and the artisan of the vale, serving and enjoying the pleasures of building, crafting, artwork, handwork and much, much more.

Artistry and craftsmanship know no boundaries. However, at present, the Tree Singers are categorized as follows:

The Ame’lie Tree Wardens

Learn to smith a great and mighty sword, form a beautiful vase, paint a grand canvas, carve a sculpture of your beloved manii, sew a gorgeous gown, build tall extravagant towers or cultivate our beloved ame’lie trees! If you believe you make a good fit for one of these roles, or have an idea for another role fitting for the guild, consider becoming a Tree-Singer!

The Thorned Compasses

Explore the most ancient forests, unfold the forgotten secrets of our realm or fight against the cruel dark forces of the world. The Thorned Compasses are for those brave-hearted, who wish to protect and aid others through battle and explore the realm of Aevos.

Unlike the other guilds, with different roles for each hobby or interests, the Thorned Compasses thrive through teamwork, where everyone collaborates to aid each other, guided and led by their Guild Leader.

While the Guide is the guild leader who’s most important and central role is to ensure the safety and protection of the other members as well as ensuring a stable and well calculated plan for their ventures is made, the compasses are appointed leaders to aid the guide for their adventurers. These compasses can be regulated and shifted, depending on the mission at hand with regards to the members competences. The thorned ones are the members of the Guild. Together, they all play a vital role. Cooperation and partnership are central aspects within the guild.

The Verdant Whispers

With the gentleness and caring of the Springmother, the Verdant Whispers aid and heal their people with their skillful hands.

 

Whether you brew alchemical potions for healing and fighting, spend hours in surgery or travel through the different biomes to gather herbs for the clinic, the Verdant Whispers all serve an important role in the Vale. The current roles for the Verdant Whispers are:

The Medics

The Alchemists

The Gardeners

While the Medics focus on aiding the weak and the ill and teach others how to become a medic, the Alchemists focus on their brewing and potion making as well as teaching the art of Alchemy to those interested in the Vale. The Gardeners are for those who enjoy travelling around the various biomes in the realm of Aevos, gathering the necessary herbs for the Clinic.

The Cedar Archives

They say that those who read, are those who get to experience a thousand lives in only one, and the members of the Cedar Archives agree. It is important to preserve history and knowledge to enlighten others, and teach the future generations of the current lessons that we have learnt.

 

Besides the Head Librarian who acts as a guild leader, the members of the Cedar Archives are:

The Scribes

The Archive Managers

The Scholars

While the scribes focus on an important aspect of a library; to write and record history, knowledge and logs, it is also important to have scholars and seekers who enjoy learning new various things from around the world, whether it is by exploring, participating in grand events or reading from other libraries. These Scholars and Seekers can then teach lessons to the other Nevaehlis, or have intriguing tell-tale nights by the bonfire, sharing their adventures with others. 

 

The Archive Managers are for those that enjoy the satisfaction of keeping the library organized, making sure the bookshelves are in order, updating the archives and tending to the donation barrel as well as scribing copies of our books to visitors.

The Iron-Antlers

Whether you enjoy baking the finest pastries, pouring the perfect pint or organize cheerful parties, the Iron-Antlers is for you! 

 

The Antlers have a central role in the community of the Vale and specialize in managing the tavern, the bakery and event-planning in Nevaehlen, making them a cornerstone of Nevaehlen’s entertainment and festivities.

 

There are currently four different roles to choose from within the guild:

The Bartenders and Baristas

The Cooks

The Event Planners and Organizers

 

The Iron-Antlers Guild is essential to Nevaehlen who values community connection. If you like meeting new people, and you’re passionate about hospitality and celebrations, join the Iron-Antlers!

The eager scraping of a pen against parchment echoed into the small cushioned corner. A giddy elfess wrote a letter to Liriana,

 

"Miss Liri, I would love to join the: The Cedar Archives, The Verdant Whispers, The Thorned Compasses, and The Tree-Singers. I hope to hear back from you soon."

The 'Tigrasi smiled, glancing down to the new writes and introduction upon the guilds he'd only heard of. A nod to them.

"Would be glad to join the Cedar Archives. Even the Thorned Compass, but will play it slow."

The olden Kharajyr snickered, a gruff chuckle to it. A request to join the Cedar Archives sent to Liriana, readying himself to things to come.

"Wild Paths be kind."

Zylrie walked towards the tree near the fire with a neutral expression on her face. This tree had all sorts of posters, papers, and some missive’s stuck to it. She doesn’t pay much mind to the others, as she only needs to look for one. 

 

"Verdant Whispers... and The Thorned Compasses... I'm surprised Liriana said I could join both…” she says quietly, not enough for those around the fire to hear.

 

The missive she was looking for then catches her eye and she cracks a small smile.

 

“There you are…”

 

She then proceeds to write her name down  and the guilds she wants to join under the missive like Liriana said for her to do.

 

“I hope to see you in the Verdant Whispers Anna.” 

 

She then proceeds to walk away from everyone and she chuckles. She then says something under her breath.

 

“I sure hope we can help put down those mages…”

 

She smirks, and continues to walk home.

Anna looked over the missive of the guilds she had pondered a few elven days ago, looking over the name 'Verdant Whispers', "Weird the way the world works, from Interested to Guild leader." Turned toward the public clinic, a hand full of various alchemical herbs for donation, "Hopefully it takes a weight off Liriana's back."
