The halls of the palace echoed with her cries. A widow sat in the destruction of her palace apartment that she’d shared with her spouse, Thorin Rostova, the love of her life. Broken mirrors around her, the bed destroyed. Every memory she’d shared with her spouse all but burnt to a crisp in her absolute agony. Isabel did not listen to the pleas of Constantine who was her closest friend as he begged her to let him into the ruins of what she’d once adored. She remembered when her husband had been injured and he promised her he’d spend more time with her, with the children. They’d argued at some point, but she couldn’t recall the reasons why. She laid back against the couch in their room, more sobs wracking through her until her throat was raw.

There was nothing but misery within her. She couldn’t fathom the loss of the man she’d loved for 20 years, couldn’t function even as her children were tearing themselves apart. She refused to see anyone, refused to hear anyone’s words because they simply fell upon deaf ears. Even in her haze of drugs and alcohol, she couldn’t forget him. When they’d met in Hyspia at El Puente he was a charming young prince who seemed far too out of her league, yet the two of them got along well. She’d asked him about his home, he told her stories of places she’d never seen. Finally, she’d gathered the courage to put herself out on the line and asked him to court. It wasn’t long after that they’d gotten married and been blessed with their son Owyn. The world seemed so beautiful, so fantastical and that quiet librarian who’d spent her days organizing the library of Hyspia had gone from a fallen noble to a Princess. She was happier than she’d ever thought she deserved to be. Then war came and she comforted Thorin through all he’d faced then. She’d seen him injured too, when creatures came to attack Ravenmire. Yet they lived, they had gone through so much, brought seven beautiful children into the world, and they survived. With the war between Haense in full swing, Isabel was uneasy, but she persisted because she knew she must. She put on a strong face for those around her even when the world felt like it was crashing apart and finally it did. Thorin was dead and he would never return and she would have to live with that for the rest of her life, however long she remained.

“Until we meet again, my love.Isabel spoke into the emptiness, her throat raw from the screaming she’d already done. She would resign herself to grieving until the pain went away, no matter how long that might take.

Narrative post based on the recent PK of Thorin Rostova (played by @Javert) I'd like to thank Javvy for playing Thorin and giving Isabel such a fun and interesting story as well as all the players who play our characters kids. This isn't a PK for Isabel, just her grieving and her emotional process to show how much this has broken her.
