A CALL TO THE LORDS OF BURGUNDY

Issued on the third of Snow’s Maiden, 

in the year of our Lord, 2024

GOOD LORDS OF BURGUNDY,

 

I pen this letter to you all to seek the initiation of something which has been upon my mind for a long time, since before the Kingdom of Burgundy had even formed. The Lords of Burgundy are some of the most influential in all the realms, and the noble houses most definitely have a right to be heard. Yet, as it stands, there is no organized body with which to gather around and discuss our feelings on particular matters.

 

While I would not dare to presume what the Crown of Burgundy has in store for its government in the near future, I feel it pertinent to at least give the push which may drive it forth. Therefore, I invite the Lords of Burgundy to the former seat of the Holy See, the Apostolic City, to gather and create the BURGUNDIAN DIET. Such a body would, in theory, serve as an advisory group with which to provide the Crown of Burgundy with the opinions of the many noble houses which rule the realm. Be aware, this Diet shall have no legal holding lest given direct permission by His Majesty's Crown.

 

The structure would be as follows; Each direct Crown vassal, such as Alba or Ravenmire, are provided with 4 votes. Each indirect vassal, such as a vassal of a vassal, will be provided with 1 vote. The first prerogative of this initial meeting shall be to elect a LORD SPEAKER, who will be tasked with organizing future Diet meetings and bringing forth matters of discussion. It shall furthermore be the duty of this position to ensure debates within the Diet chamber are kept civil at all times.

 

 

INVITATIONS,

All lords are invited and encouraged to attend so their voice may be heard. Likewise, His Royal Majesty, Tiberias I, is invited or welcome to send a representative in their name. All Lords will be expected to provide proof of their ennoblement or they shall be barred entry. Crown vassals will not be required to provide proof.
