OF SVALA VANFER BLUEFERN

In Honor of the First and Eldest Daughter of Chief Flynnigan Bluefern, you are formally invited

 

THE TRANSITION FROM STJERNE

All stars in the night sky shine for a reason. In the Bluefern clan, a child reaching adulthood is one of the most important events in the clan. It is a time when a child of the clan is now their own watcher; when their decisions are the final say in their own life. Individuality is to be achieved now on this path, and will be respected and encouraged from all members of the clan.

STRONG, VALIANT, AMBITIOUS, DETERMINED, ALTRUISTIC

Adopted at age ten under the wing of Flynnigan and Wynather Bluefern, Svala has been in the clan since its early days, and is the first child to come of age in the clan. She shows great care towards not only her younger sister, but towards all in Norland and her clan; showing the beliefs and respect the clan values so greatly. The Chief of Clan Bluefern, ever proud of her accomplishments and her hardships, holds this ceremony for no one else but HER. You are invited to stand by his side and give her support so she may start off her future right.

 

 

WHAT HAPPENS?

At a Bluefern coming of age ceremony, a great party is held, offering food, drinks, song, and dance. It’s a celebration of the future, and a recollection of the past. Stories of the young child are told and reminisced upon, as well as words of encouragement for the future given. After the tales, the Chief offers two items to the child, upon which they may choose either the spyglass, or a compass. 

The spyglass symbolizes the child’s wish to stay with the family, and upon taking it swear that they shall take upon the mantle of watching out for the other stjernes in the clan. The compass symbolizes the child’s wish to depart on their own outside of the clan to further find themselves, and are permitted to leave (but always welcomed back) once the ceremony ends. Once they choose one or the other, the child is officially an adult.

No judgement is permitted towards their decision, and any negative judgement will face consequences, as it is believed that a ceremony filled with encouragement blesses the child’s ceremony and future, whereas doubt and disapproval may seed in the child’s mind and shade it from growing to its full potential.

 

CHOSEN EVENT

As chosen by Svala Vanfer Bluefern, the event of her choosing shall be a tournament that anyone who wishes to participate may join and battle for honor. Come to the ceremony to sign up and battle all who have signed up to participate as well in a tournament bracket.
