OVERVIEW

The Imperial Treasury is the institution responsible for maintaining the financial health and economic development of the realm. It is headed by the Lord Treasurer and supported by specialized officers, each entrusted with a critical aspect of the Empire’s economic affairs.

LORD TREASURER

The Lord Treasurer is the Holder of the Privy Purse, Warden of the Imperial Mint, and Keeper of the Imperial Treasury. As the first contact for all matters regarding the economic state, he is responsible for taxes, funding public projects, and the maintenance of His Imperial Majesty’s Lands. As a seated member of the Imperial Privy, the Lord Treasurer shall report on the current wealth of the Empire's coffers, provide regular updates on the financial security of the realm, and offer ways to invigorate the Imperial Treasury.

LORD RECEIVER-GENERAL

The Lord Receiver-General serves under the Lord Treasurer in the oversight of the realm’s finances, maintaining meticulous records of all sums of receipts and issues from the Imperial Coffers. They are charged with the assessment of tribute and taxes levied upon noble vassals, ensuring the Crown’s due is collected in full, proper, and timely measure. 

 

WARDEN OF THE IMPERIAL EXCHANGE

The Warden of the Imperial Exchange oversees the collection of revenues from all Crown Enterprises, whether longstanding, novel, or newly established. Tasked with managing the flow of state-owned goods and resources, the Warden directs those engaged in acquisition, transport, and refinement, ensuring efficient operation across mines, caravans, workshops, and market stalls, both foreign and domestic. They hold authority to charter trade, issue licenses, and prioritize essential materials in times of scarcity, their seal marking all sanctioned movement of imperial trade goods.

 

HIGH STEWARD OF HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY’S CITY

The High Steward of His Imperial Majesty’s City administers the management, upkeep, and expansion of all properties and holdings within the capital walls and its outlying lands. Entrusted with levying local taxes and ensuring the prosperity of the Emperor’s seat, they serve as the Crown’s voice in all matters of urban governance and development.

 

WARDEN OF THE PUBLIC LOT

The Warden of the Lot is entrusted with the full administration of the Imperial Lottery. They oversee the drawing of lots, the safeguarding of entries, the distribution of winnings, and the integrity of the process itself. Tasked with ensuring fairness, transparency, and spectacle, the Warden manages the Crown’s most thrilling institutions of chance.

 

IMPERIAL MASTER ALCHEMIST

The Honorable, Master Auclair

The Imperial Master Alchemist serves as chief of alchemical study and creation within the realm. They are charged with the steady production of required alchemical goods to supply the Imperial state and the Warden of the Imperial Exchange. They oversee apothecary practices in the Empire, develop through training a company of proud imperial alchemists, advise on matters of health, and aid material enrichment.

 

MASTER TAVERNKEEP

The Master Tavernkeep is charged with running the Hound's House, the tavern of the imperial capital. They report to the Warden of the Imperial Exchange. They must ensure the quality of spirits served from the tavern, set reasonable prices to allow all imperials to partake in drink, conduct tavernkeeps to maintain consistent service of patrons, regularly host nights of revelry, and foster common merriment amongst travelers and denizens of the Empire.

 

CLERKS

Clerks serve as versatile members of the Imperial Treasury, gaining firsthand experience in the many channels by which the Crown gathers its wealth. Under the guidance of senior officers, they may be tasked with assisting in audits, managing property exchanges, overseeing lottery operations, and recording Crown revenues. Whether toiling in mines, tending farmsteads, or studying the arcane arts of alchemy (with express approval), Clerks are groomed for future advancement through diligent service and a broad education in the machinery of Imperial finance. Those who show active commitment will be rewarded.

 

 

RECRUITMENT

Any citizen of the Empire, being of age, sound mind, and good character, may submit a letter of intent to the Lord Treasurer to express their interest in serving in the various roles of the Imperial Treasury.

 

Wardships are available for youthful applicants.
