[Complete] self report: account was breached

howdy. only hopping on this site after over a decade about a possible security breach involving an old account of mine aka this one, or at least make yall aware of such in case its an issue for others too, and report my account for any issues caused if any exists such as forum posts, or god forbid, in game stuff.
 

anyways, someone from a fake country called Australia logged into my account, and i only found out via an email sent after. i have had account since 2011, but never used it, so i found it odder than the usual data breach. if there was anything on forums or such from that, i apologize. i did not look to see if there were any posts. 

 

The reason for this report against my own account is twofold: one, in case during the 10 minutes some aussie had access to my account any damage was done or posted on forums or privately ect, and two, because, in USA at least, only assets such as accounts are legally the responsibility of the company its with, and if not a company, the end user. last i checked, this was a game server, not a company or non profit, and as such, i fit into second category. 

 

anyways, just wanted to bring it to the attention of staff before i part ways and report my own account, to set a good example and hope, if somehow something was caused by this breach, it makes others aware and also sets an example on responsibility. besides, im 33, made this account over a decade ago, and never touched Minecraft nor server since soon after, do if there is any remedial action taken due to this, as much as i hate to say it, it wont be much of an issue for me. I am simply trying to an account hack into a teachable moment and do the right thing at same time.
