“Where Commerce Unlocks Prosperity”

For too long upon Aevos, the markets of Petra stood silent—shops closed, stalls abandoned, and trade diminished. As we settle into our new city of Riviénse, the merchants of Petra are determined to make the most of this new start. To this end, we have collaborated with the Petran Treasury to found the Merchant’s Guild, an organization dedicated to creating a prosperous environment of commerce and trade in the city.

This guild will serve as the cornerstone of Petra’s commercial rebirth, offering structure, opportunity, and protection to merchants of all kinds—whether they be local artisans, foreign traders, or ambitious entrepreneurs.

WHAT IS THE MERCHANT’S GUILD?

The guild is an officially recognized institution, working in partnership with the Treasury to oversee:

The management of stalls, shops, and market spaces.

The support and protection of Petra’s merchants.

The organization of mercantile events such as markets and meetings.

It is open to all merchants, regardless of background or nationality, who wish to do business in Petra.

IS A MERCHANT’S GUILD LICENSE REQUIRED?

No—you do not need a licence to own or rent a shop or stall in Petra. Anyone can purchase or rent a commercial space freely.

However, by joining the Merchant’s Guild, you can access a special licence system that offers a wide range of exclusive benefits to help your business thrive.

The benefits of  a Merchant’s Guild license include:

TAX MANAGEMENT: No longer worry about accidentally missing payments to the tax office, or finding an eviction notice at your door. License-holding guild members will have their yearly taxes on their commercial properties paid by the Merchant’s Guild. Multiple properties may incur an additional fee.

SECURITY SERVICES: The Merchant’s Guild will work with the Swords of Saint Emma to investigate any thefts or threats upon any of its member businesses.

WAREHOUSE SPACE: Have more stock than you do shelves? Not a worry! All licensed guild members are given use of the guild’s warehouse in order to store their goods and supplies.

PRIORITY: License-holding guild members will be prioritized when there are simultaneous purchase requests on the same commercial property.

ADVERTISEMENT: The guild will work to publicly advertise its member businesses wherever possible.

ADVICE AND LOANS: Guild officials will offer advice and consultation to its member businesses, as well as offering small loans when deemed necessary.

In short: The Guild takes care of paperwork, taxes, security, logistics, and promotion — Letting you focus on growing your trade.
