Nation Mines Build Contest

With the recent announcement of increased nation-owned tile resources and the return of Nation Mines, as detailed in the “Nation Mines Are Back” post, we’re excited to announce that we will be hosting a  Nation Mine Build Contest to encourage nations to go all out in constructing their mines. The contest will run until 11 pm EST on the 24th of November, which is the Monday before Thanksgiving. 

As this is a per-nation project, nation leaders are encouraged to rally their builders to design a single, visually compelling and thematically cohesive mine design. This mine should be built directly within your chosen nation’s tile.

 

• Each nation may submit only a Single mine design.
• No schematics will be accepted.
• All Builds must comply with server rules. 

How to Submit

When your nation is ready to submit, the PRO or someone designated as an RO on the Nation Realm should create a /creq. A Community Team member will then set a warp at your nation's submission, ensuring it is easily accessible for review and judging.

Judging Criteria

All entries will be judged by the following criteria: 

1. If the mine is large in size, encompasses small explorable areas, or presents differing sceneries (current open-world Netherite and gem-node mines provide good examples of varied aesthetics in room designs).
2. If it is thematically cohesive with the tile’s biome, aka reflects the biome and environment of the tile it is situated in.
3. How functional it is, and the use of realistic support structures within the mine itself.
4. Usage of mining-related decorations, such as tools, carts, debris, etc.
5. The Overall shape and flow of the mine itself, especially around cave sections.
6. If there is adequate, logical space for nodes to be placed without blocking movement. This can be marked by Purple Wool with a sign of what you wish placed there.

PRIZES

The winning nations will receive their rewards in the form of Nation Debt Forgiveness, directly reducing their outstanding debts. If a Nation's Debt is already cleared, the nation will have its prize directly applied to its treasury.

Contest Rewards:
1st Place – 3,000 Mina
2nd Place – 2,000 Mina
3rd Place – 1,000 Mina

Furthermore, please note that, regardless of participation in the contest, each nation will still be required to establish a mine of some kind so that the Implementation Team can place the appropriate nodes within it.
