Written on the 3rd of the Amber Cold, the 261st Year of the Second Age

The Trial of Elarhil, as quoted from the Ironwood Tome:

“Should an Iryalii be found in violation of any of these laws, they will be brought forth to public trial. Witnesses will come forth to give their testimonies and the accused will then be given time to defend themselves. Should the accused be a member of a Seed, their Chieftain may represent them in the trial. Once all stories have been presented, the Greenblades will then vote on whether the accused is guilty or innocent. Should the accused be found guilty, the Council will vote privately on what their punishment should be. The punishment will be carried out by the Eliheiuhii.

The trial applies to all of those above the age of eighteen. However, those Iryalii who are under the age of fifty are still considered children, and therefore have the right to bring along a representative for their trial should they not be in a Seed or have a Chieftain represent them.”

Before Iryalen, there was Nevaehlen - a village with no laws upon Aevos. During this time, a move of rebellion was made to prove a point: lawlessness was no boon, but a bane. Three items were stolen, but a deal had been made. All three items would be returned once proper laws were written and enforced, as thievery would then be illegal and punishable. However, this deal had not been upheld, and only one of the three items had been returned despite the completion of law within the lands. It is unjust, a disappointment to Amaethon, with no amount of decades soothing the wound such a crime as created.

For these reasons, Caius Prisgoth is being called to submit to the Trial of Elarhil by Sonna Vulnrith. He shall make an appearance at Omentahu, and state his case before the Council and Greenblades. Once both sides of the story have been told, the Greenblades shall vote on Caius’ innocence or guilt. Should he be found guilty, then the Council shall vote on his punishment and such will be carried out by the Eliheiuhii. Caius Prisgoth as an Elven Week to come forth and submit himself to trial. No move to detain Caius Prisgoth by any Iryalii is to be made before this Elven week is up.

Amaethon, guide our actions, so that justice may be obtained.

Yra'lissa scans over the notice with a frown.

"Good riddance, finally 's better then never, I s'ppose. At least she kept her word."

The Eltaliyna had her thoughts about the whole situation, but she would keep her judgement to herself until the trial. For now, she returns to her tasks.

Needless to say it was bothersome to the Prisgoth, having such deeds make an echo even half a century later. Though a forest was never without a thorn, so, he prepared himself for the long anticipated trial.

Kael Leafman looks over the missive, curiosity spiking as he read the name Caius Prisgoth. With a soft sigh escaping him, he set it down on his dining table.

"Thalen was right...he is reckless...abusing Fey and now thievery? We'll see how this goes."

He glanced to Elsiimah and Suliin as they ate dinner, looking for their thoughts.

Suliin'yuln sighs, leaving the missive to the side after reading it.

She hasn't minded the Prisgoth so far - abrasive, ready for a challenge, nihilistic and pessimistic to a fault. Funny to annoy, but endlessly interesting to quip over theory with.

All things she doesn't feel is necessary to share with the others at the table. If he's committed a crime, there's little more anyone can do if he is to stand trial. Hurting fae, theft. A pit forms in her stomach, knowing it likely won't fare well for him.

She doesn't finish her meal. "Aspects Guide him."

Beau snorts dismissively as she reads the missive. "Lawlessness? A rich way to put that considering she was not around..." She promptly crumbles up the paper and throws it away, writing off the trial as another way Caius will get off easy.

Liriana waved the missive in Yra'lissa's face; one the Eltaliyna surely had already seen.

"HA! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? After all these years. But a promise is a promise! - How will he even return it all if Dyonne left? What will you vote for to happen Yra'lissa, would you tell me? Tell me please!" she begged, grabbing her arm as she jumped up and down.

"Oh! I wonder if they will shave of his hairless head. It would be HILARIOUS! Promise you'll vote for that! Promise Yra!" Liriana went on, like a child having candy for the first time.

"FINALLY this gross, stupid, idiotic, rude,  Caius Bog druid is going to learn his place- maybe he might actually learn something... likely not!" Celia would say.

Celia would then snicker and would then take hold of the missive- and send it with a bird to various people she knows. "This is gonna be GREAT!" she giggles- now skipping off to her home in Illivira.

The Matriarch stared at the missive she herself had written, both there and not as she got lost in her thoughts. She had done the right thing - Caius' actions and behavior had to be challenged.

So why did she feel so hollow?

Yet another sigh from the highly disappointed Arle Sirame.

"Oh, nephew, what have you gotten yourself into?"
